[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious, because I feel like I meet a lot of people my own age whose names were quite unusual in the year I was born… I know four Rowans (all female), three Lyras, three Sauls and quite a few of the more unusual Bible names: two Zillas, two Boazes, three Enochs and two Zipporahs (probably a side effect of going to a super religious school). Any names that are statistically unusual you seem to stumble across quite frequently?
I know…
5 x [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
3 x [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], 1 x [name_u]Noel[/name_u]
2 x [name_f]Sonia[/name_f], 1 x [name_f]Sonya[/name_f], 1 x [name_f]Sonja[/name_f]

Carys - I’ve met so many that I thought it was in the UK top 100 at least. It’s not. Never has been. It was #130 once, but none of them have been that age
Also: Kaiya, Tallulah, Saskia, Aoife, Hermione, Honey, Amna
[name_f]Kyah[/name_f] and Jennilyn
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabella[/name_f] – I’ve met so many but it doesn’t even rank in the top 1000!
I know soo many baby Gideons.
I know a ton of people with pretty “rare” biblical/Hebrew choices, but I’m also Jewish so that’s probably not surprising.
I know whole lot of male Whitneys, Courtneys, Ashleys, Aubreys, and Averys too, many of whom would have been born in the 80s and 90s, as well as several recently born Averys. It is still strange to me to think that most see those as more feminine names, because I really have only ever known guys with those names.
I’ve known…
2 x [name_u]Remington[/name_u] “Remi” (both girls), + 2 x Remy/Remi (also girls)
4 x [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
4 x [name_f]Margo[/name_f], 1 x [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] (0 Margot)
2 x [name_u]Diamond[/name_u], 1 x [name_f]Dyamond[/name_f]
i’ve met soooo many people named reuben, judah and esther that i thought for sure they would rank so high where i live, but they stay pretty consistently at the bottom of the charts!
here are a few…
ophelia x3
saul x3 (+ a dog)
johann x2
sage x2 (one boy, one girl)
angel x4+ (all boys)
petra x4 (one being me, and one being one my sister knows)

ian x3
ingrid x2
clauxia x2
Met two primary school aged boys named [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] last week!
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]River[/name_u]. Not uncommon these days, but I’m in my twenties, so when I was born it was still pretty connected to Mr. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], my namesake – not a good namesake as far as most people were concerned, given the nature of his passing. Anyway, I know of at least nine around my age.
[name_u]Echo[/name_u]- I’ve met multiple (though only one actually spelled ‘Echo’)
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]- popular now but most of the Aspens I know were born 15-20 years ago
[name_f]Belen[/name_f]- I’ve met several
Marisol-i just assumed it was s popular name
i know three elektras !!!
i’ve also encountered an outsize number of people called saskia, tabitha, flora, raphael, nathaniel, remy, kitty, ines, rosemary, rose, valentina, seraphina, and coco !! of these i always assumed flora, nathaniel, tabitha, and coco must have been in the top 100 when i was born, but no… flora and coco were in the 400s, tabitha was around 200, and while nathaniel wasn’t too far away from the top 100, it’s way overrepresented around me.
[name_f]Flaminia[/name_f]. Met 2.
Two [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], 2 [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], 2 [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]
I’ve met quite a few Elsas around my age and also a lot of Garretts (there were 3 in my private elementary school of around 80 students). I’ve noticed lately that I’ve been meeting a lot of girls named [name_f]Raelynn[/name_f], [name_f]Braelynn[/name_f], etc. which is a pretty popular trend now but maybe started a bit ahead of its time where I live? The name I seem to meet the most of is [name_f]Lily[/name_f], which to be fair is #39 my year but with the number I’ve encountered you’d think it would be top 5. There have also been more Evelyns than you might expect.
I’ve met multiple people named [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_u]Jade[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_u]Ziggy[/name_u]
I love these two Especially Otto
I know a ridiculous amount of girls named [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
@namelover55 oh my goodness, I also can’t move for tripping over Annabelles, although it’s not exactly unusual in [name_u]England[/name_u]!
So interesting to see everyone’s else’s suggestions as well, too many good ones to shout out
