My sweet husband nixed my favorite combo of [name]Maris[/name] [name]Odette[/name] saying it was “a little too out there” for him. I’m having a hard time finding a middle name that flows well with [name]Maris[/name]. We had considered [name]Isobel[/name] but that runs together, doesn’t it?
We had the name [name]Nora/name on our short list as a potential first name but ultimately decided it was a little too classic next to our other kid’s names. However, what do you think of [name]Maris[/name] [name]Nora/name? Does it flow well or can you suggest something better? Would you use the ‘h’ or no? Last name is [name]Wood[/name].
We are down to three combos and I really want [name]Maris[/name] to be one of them. [name]Just[/name] need a great middle (that’s not too left of center) to get my hubby on board.
I don’t care for [name]Maris[/name] [name]Nora[/name] – the repetition of the middle r is a little strange, I think. But what about [name]Maris[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]?
My first thought was [name]Maris[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] too!
If you like French names (you mentioned [name]Odette[/name]), what about:
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Colette[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Maris[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]
I also like: [name]Maris[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Maris[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Maris[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Maris[/name] [name]Eleanora[/name]
Hadn’t thought about the repetitive ‘r’ issue. I thought about [name]Eleanor[/name] but we have three sets of friends with daughters named that. Not sure if it’s such an issue if it’s a middle name, though. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like [name]Maris[/name] [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Maris[/name] Oleander - the more syllables in the middle name with [name]Maris[/name], the better! Having 2 syllables in both [name]Maris[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] seems/sounds a little stunted?
Not crazy about ‘A’ names with [name]Maris[/name] as it starts to sounds like [name]Marissa[/name]…
I like [name]Maris[/name] [name]Cecily[/name], though.
Thanks!
Thanks for your reply!
I do like [name]Maris[/name] [name]Colette[/name] (I think I may have even mentioned this to the hubs. Plus it’s a [name]Saint[/name]'s name- extra points!)
And [name]Maris[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name].
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Elodie[/name] but don’t think hubby will go for it.
I think [name]Simone[/name] is lovely as well but the ‘s’ is [name]Maris[/name] and [name]Simone[/name] run together a bit.
Thanks again!
What about [name]Maris[/name] [name]Julia[/name]? Can I use [name]Julia[/name] in a middle spot if I have a daughter named [name]Juliette[/name] or is that weird?
I like the idea of alliteration with this name. Something like [name]Maris[/name] [name]Marie[/name] [name]Wood[/name], [name]Maris[/name] Maybelline [name]Wood[/name] or [name]Maris[/name] [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Wood[/name].
I like [name]Maris[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Maris[/name] [name]Violet[/name] best from the previous posts. [name]How[/name] about: [name]Maris[/name] [name]Bettina[/name], [name]Maris[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Maris[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Maris[/name] [name]Yvonne[/name]?
