Still musing: Anouk? Cassia? Ines?

Still mulling over different combos, I’d love some feedback on these potential sibling names for M@rgot J0sephine. Thank you!

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

I really love [name_f]Ines[/name_f] but worry a lot about the pronunciation. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is maybe a bit soft next to [name_f]Margot[/name_f]? But so pretty. And [name_f]Nina[/name_f] I’ve loved for a long time but it’s getting so popular… current frontrunner is probably [name_f]Anouk[/name_f].

I love the elegance of [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] like “[name_m]Cash[/name_m]-a” or “[name_m]Cas[/name_m]-see-a”?
I’ve loved both names for a long time but never thought to put them together. The result is stunning.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is beautiful but something about it seems too fusty and antiquated compared to the more lively M/rgot and J/sephine. I think it has more to do with [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] than [name_f]Ines[/name_f]. I love the S spelling of [name_f]Ines[/name_f], it’s soft and lovely. I doubt there would be too many pronunciation issues.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] on the other hand— there’s where the pronunciation issues would start to surface. Since [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] isn’t familiar at all, i could see people hesitating or being unsure of the pronunciation. “A-nook” just doesn’t feel right no matter how many times I say it; it reminds me of the word ‘nuke’ which carries strong associations. However, that’s just me.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is a darling middle name though!

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is adorable but is almost too sweet and beribboned to make much impact. It feels like the name of a ruffly doll rather than a strong person.

[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is really sassy and it’s got a kick of spice; I like it a lot! But I would worry that [name_f]Nina[/name_f] feels too diminutive and nicknamey next to M/rgot and J/sephine.

All the names are great. I don’t think [name_f]Ines[/name_f] is getting more popular in the usa (not sure where you are at). [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] seem too weak next to your daughter name so I vote for [name_f]Ines[/name_f] or [name_f]Anouk[/name_f].

[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] pairs nicely, I think

I’d pronounce it [name_u]Cass[/name_u]-ee-a with the emphasis on the [name_u]Cass[/name_u].

In fact [name_f]Ines[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] all have potentially complex pronunciations! I’d say:

An-uke like [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_f]Ines[/name_f] as In-EZ rather than Ine-ez or or In-ness or een-EZ.

Where I am (UK) I’d say [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is probably more familiar to people than [name_f]Ines[/name_f]? But it’s hard to judge, neither are common. I think my discomfort might stem from the fact I’ve never met an English [name_f]Ines[/name_f] so I’ve never heard it pronounced in a British accent.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is very nice…

I think [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] go best with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and [name_f]Ines[/name_f] both sound a bit harsh in comparison, though both are lovely names.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] - This name is growing on me but still feels somewhat forced in the pronunciation for me.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - This combo is gorgeous, fitting well with her siblings!
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], it reminds me of the little french girl in the film ‘Chocolat’. I also had a friend called [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] growing up so it feels familiar to me.
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - Not my favourite but I can see how it fits well with her big sisters.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - Always loved this name, sad that its growing in popularity.

[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] are my favourites with M@rgot and J0sephine!

I never considered [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] posing pronunciation challenges, but you are right! I think the difference is that there are two distinct ways to pronounce [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] that people tend to gravitate towards, but no one would look at [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] and be unable to pronounce it on the spot. However with [name_f]Ines[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] there would be that hesitation— not being aware of any correct pronunciation at all. I do think [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] is your best bet, with [name_f]Ines[/name_f] as a close runner-up. I would pronounce [name_f]Ines[/name_f] as Brazilian-Portuguese speakers say it (that’s part of my ethnic background): “ee-NES” with the S somewhere between “ss” and “z”.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is beautiful, and my favourite from your list.

My choice would be [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

Either [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] or [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]! [name_f]Ines[/name_f] A. feels beautiful and intellectual and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] B. seems spirited and delicate at the same time. I think both work well with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. [name_f]Ines[/name_f] A. has the same rhythm, which I remember you said you’d like to repeat, and as [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] are both classic diminutives, I think they have a sisterly sensibility.

Thanks all - such varied responses! I should probably add we’d also consider [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] instead of [name_m]Augustine[/name_m].

I was just coming to suggest [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_f]Ines[/name_f] is a stunning sister set. My second choice would be [name_f]Nina[/name_f].

I am a teacher in the U.S. and have had students named both [name_f]Ines[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]. I knew how to pronounce [name_f]Ines[/name_f] without being told, but I am embarrassed to say, I had to concentrate on achieving the correct pronunciation of [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] ([name_u]CASS[/name_u]-ee-uh) every time I said it.

I absolutely adore [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. She’s so chic & stylish! [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is a lovely combo! I also really like her with M@rgot J0sephine - they pair really well!

I vote for [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], too.

I like [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. I would prefer a different middle with [name_f]Flora[/name_f] – [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], or even [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] would be nice.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] - This is my favorite from your list. I’ve been crushing really hard on [name_f]Ines[/name_f] lately and it’s quickly making it’s way towards the top of my list. I think [name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] is such a chic combo.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - These sound nice together, but I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - I personally just don’t like how these names look together, but that’s just me.
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - This is a very pretty combo, but definitely more frilly than your other combos
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I think this is absolutely adorable. I really like it a lot.

I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] best.

I adore [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], and think both would go well with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I don’t mind [name_f]Nina[/name_f] and think it goes well with [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
