I have trawled through the internet for the obscure, the whacky the not heard ,the classic, french, norse, roman, greek etc and still have not found anything I love.
Me and my husband like [name_f]Effie[/name_f] but I dont know of it’s too nicknamey
[name_m]Will[/name_m] she just be known as Eff?
We were thinking [name_u]Fee[/name_u] but does that feel a natural step if her name was shortened?
Are there any other uncommon/familiar names that fit in to the same category as [name_f]Effie[/name_f]. We also like [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_u]Aster[/name_u] my husband likes [name_u]Remi[/name_u] but I dont , I’d prefer it on a boy.
Effie is really sweet! I do think it might get shortened to Eff, but casually rather than as an actual nickname. [name_u]Fee[/name_u] definitely works too but feels maybe just a step less natural to me. [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] is adorable too! Others in the vein of [name_f]Effie[/name_f] and [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]…
I think [name_f]Effie[/name_f] is sweet! It doesn’t need a nickname. And I doubt she will be called Eff.
What about a longer name with the nickname [name_f]Effie[/name_f]? Like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ‘’[name_f]Effie[/name_f]‘’.
Maybe you’d like another nickname-name. Like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f], [name_f]Bea[/name_f], [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Lainey[/name_f], [name_f]Lani[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]?
Personally, [name_f]Effie[/name_f] immediately reminded me of [name_f]Effie[/name_f] Trinket from the hunger games. Most other younger people would probably make the same connection. If you really love it go for it though. [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_u]Aster[/name_u] is beautiful.

Effie though I like it as a nickname there is a Greek girl I grew up with who has it as a given name so I see no problem with it.She has always just been [name_f]Effie[/name_f] , her dad called her [name_f]Fifi[/name_f] when she was young
Effie & [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] would make a fabulous sibset

Effie is so sweet! She might get Eff sometimes, but it would be a quick shortening rather than a regular nickname.
Based on [name_f]Effie[/name_f] and [name_f]Marnie[/name_f], what about:

My cousin’s name is [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f], and she goes by [name_f]Effie[/name_f] for short— In case you want to consider a longer name with [name_f]Effie[/name_f] as the nickname.
I love the sound of [name_f]Effie[/name_f]! It’s so cute and it’s a very rare name aswell. [name_f]Effie[/name_f] is short for [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] which I think sounds lovely too.
My first thought was [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] the have the same vintage quirky vibe to me
I’d also suggest…

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
Eulabee
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]

Effie is usually a nickname for [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] which I love but might be too much for you, I don’t know your style. I think [name_u]Fee[/name_u] makes sense as a shortening of [name_f]Effie[/name_f], my mom is a [name_f]Felicia[/name_f] called [name_u]Fee[/name_u] and so I don’t see why an [name_f]Effie[/name_f] couldn’t be [name_u]Fee[/name_u].
While it is a bit cutesy as a standalone dalone to me, I think [name_f]Effie[/name_f] I’d doable as a full name if you really love it.
If it doesn’t feel stand alone enough for you, here are some other names that could shorten to [name_f]Effie[/name_f]:
[name_f]Elfrida[/name_f] (or even [name_f]Frida[/name_f]/ [name_f]Frieda[/name_f])
Euphrasia/ [name_f]Euphrasie[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]/ [name_f]Felicia[/name_f]/ [name_u]Felice[/name_u]
[name_u]Fiadh[/name_u]/ [name_f]Fia[/name_f]/ [name_f]Fianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]/ [name_f]Freyja[/name_f]/ [name_f]Freja[/name_f]
