I just met a girl named [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and a girl named [name_u]Maverick[/name_u]. And according to this very site, we’re having girls named stuff like [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Tatum[/name_u], and [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]. If we’re just gonna make every name gender-neutral, might as well name your daughter [name_u]John[/name_u] or [name_u]Robert[/name_u] at this point. Why do we feel comfortable giving male names to females but not female names to males? You’d never name your son [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], so why name your daughter stuff like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_u]Carson[/name_u]?
there’s literally nothing wrong with people giving their kids gender bended names. you don’t have to like them, but there’s no point in complaining about it.
All the names you listen except John, Maverick and Robert have or are currently ranking in the top 1000 for girls, but still much more popular for boys. While I do feel that girl names should be used for boys just as how boy names are trendy for girls now, there is literally no reason why a girl can’t be named Sawyer, just as how there is no reason why a boy can’t be named Catherine. Just cause you don’t like them doesn’t mean they’re bad
You need something else to worry about
This.
Also basically every name you listed originated as a surname. Surnames aren’t really gendered… sooo yes they can be used for either sex
