…but I’m not sure why.
[name_f]Stockard[/name_f], as in [name_u]Channing[/name_u].
I just love this name, despite the fact that it possesses many traits I heartily dislike in names.
It sounds like a surname and I only like surnames on boys (not a political statement, more aesthetic).
It sounds like stock yard, which is an ugly, sad image.
It sounds like munitions, armaments, battles.
I shudder to think of the nicknames (Stocky, anyone?).
And yet I love it, how strong and surprising it is.
Any thoughts? Is [name_f]Stockard[/name_f] [name_u]Channing[/name_u] the only one on earth?
I can’t unsee the “stock” in it tbh

I don’t like it, I’m afraid, but it’s striking!

Honestly I kind of love it, the same way I kind of love [name_u]Scout[/name_u] or [name_u]Skipper[/name_u]! Stocky is a cute nn.

To be fair, [name_f]Stockard[/name_f] [name_u]Channing[/name_u] is pretty cool
Grease is one of my all-time favourites, and I absolutely loved her as Rizzo. It isn’t something I’d use, but i can see the appeal in it, especially for fans of Grease, considering [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]’s popularity ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Newton[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]).
Also, fun fact, [name_f]Stockard[/name_f] [name_u]Channing[/name_u]’s birth name is [name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Stockard[/name_f]! Her first husband’s surname is [name_u]Channing[/name_u] and so her maiden name and married name became her stage name.
