I had to come back to this thread after skimming Facebook. A picture showed up in my newsfeed of a cute little girl at a day care. The caption referred to the girl as [name_m]Turtle[/name_m] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]. I was thinking that’s an unusual but I guess sweet nickname. Then it slowly dawned on me that it could just be her real name. So I investigated a bit further…her name really is [name_m]Turtle[/name_m] [name_u]Dove[/name_u].
McIntosh. Like the apple. It’s actually his middle name. His first name? [name_m]Hill[/name_m]. I hope these are family names!
I went to school with a girl named [name_f]Peaches[/name_f]. I had a student called Crust.
One woman on instagram has a little girl named G@tes.

Istanbul and Ardahan. I remember saying wow, because there are people brave enough to use them. Also from my signature; Artuk, Karesi, Eretna and Mavera, people would think I am weird.
I took driver’s ed with a boy named [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] and a girl named [name_u]Montana[/name_u] (not related to each other) But the one that really takes the cake is a little girl I used to know named…[name_u]Taj[/name_u] Mahal. What even?
I think the strangest ones I’ve heard are two sisters named British & [name_m]Boston[/name_m] and a little boy named Evil ( if I remember correctly it was pronounce eh-vul)
I haven’t met anyone with an out there name. Though, in one of the books I’m reading, there characters names are [name_u]Golden[/name_u] “[name_f]Goldie[/name_f]”, Jubilation “Jube”, Favour & Festival. My friends also lived in Denmark (Australia) for a while, and they met kids like [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_u]Zen[/name_u], [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f], [name_f]Maple[/name_f], [name_u]Leaf[/name_u], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u], [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] & [name_m]Reef[/name_m], but not one [name_m]Jack[/name_m].

My uncle works in the NICU so the weirdest name I’ve heard it Hukuna Matata… My uncle tried to talk the parents out of it but…
I went to school with a boy named Wise. I actually think it’s a pretty cool name and the boy was really nice which also makes me like it that much more.
I had a friend whose middle name was Mataoka (Ma-TOIK-a) as in Mataoka, [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]. I think it’s very pretty. Mataoka also happens to be where my great-grandmother was born!

It also reminds me of a girl I met recently called [name_u]Peace[/name_u] which was her mn but she went exclusively by it (her siblings are Blessing, [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and a few others which I can’t recall but they all go by their virtuous middles rather than their official first names which are much more along the lines of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] etc.)
I’ve also just now remembered an encounter with a little girl when I was around 8/9, she was a bit younger, who’s name was Dolphin. Her sister was [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. I remember thinking how cool it was because the character [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] on [name_u]Tracey[/name_u] Beaker’s real name was Dolphin haha.
Off the top of my head, I had a neighbor named [name_f]Precious[/name_f] whose dog was named [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (I always thought I had their names mixed up, but, no) and I met girls named [name_f]Heavenly[/name_f], [name_f]Asia[/name_f] (which I actually like), and [name_u]Kenya[/name_u]. I’ve met a guy named [name_m]Rock[/name_m].
