Struggling w/ boys names..need help!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] we are expecting baby #3 [name_u]March[/name_u] 3, 2014. We are not finding out gender so trying to come up w/ boys/girls names. We have 2 girls already and I just tend to gravitate toward girls names. I am really stumped when it comes to finding a good fit for a boy! To give background, we have a 3 year old named Mhairi [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and a 7 month old named [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] Lilidh. We obviously like scottish names but not a must for the third. Part of me thinks we should continue the scottish name trend but there are not a lot of scottish names I like anymore. Open to suggestions or Scottish, Irish, Welsh or any other traditional old fashioned style names. To give an idea of boy names my husband and/or I sort of like: [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u] ([name_m]Jim[/name_m]), [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] ([name_u]Danny[/name_u]), [name_m]Angus[/name_m]…so pretty traditional but open to suggestions! Any ideas for boy names that might sound good w/ Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]!?

I don’t know why but my first gut reaction was [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]…Mhairi, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_m]Hamish[/name_m].

Oh shut up! I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]!! ahah It’s literally top of my list…but my husband near puked when he found out hahah. He never even heard of it and hated it. He’s not as into the scottish fixation as I am. I will secretly keep it on my list but it’s not looking good. But thanks for confirming my belief that it would be a good fit w/ our girls ahah

That’s so funny, there was a [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] at my cousin’s 6th birthday party the other day, it was refreshing with all the [name_u]Rylie[/name_u]'s and [name_u]Avery[/name_u]'s running around!

lol…that’s funny. I really do like it though. It would be an awesome sibset. Maybe hubs will come around

PS Mine is soooooo difficult about names, so I completely understand

I’m putting another vote in for [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]. It’s uncommon, yet handsome and has spunk to it. I also like that you mentioned [name_m]Angus[/name_m].

Have you considered
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_f]Darach[/name_f]
Ruarc

Absolutely adore [name_m]Hamish[/name_m].

Other suggestions:

[name_m]Ruaridh[/name_m]
[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m]/[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_m]Kian[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_m]Arran[/name_m]
[name_m]Ewan[/name_m]
[name_f]Darach[/name_f]
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Neill[/name_m]/[name_u]Niall[/name_u]
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Duncan[/name_m]? I also adore [name_m]Angus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u], and add me to the [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] camp (though I understand your husband’s feelings on the name).

I like [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] - my sister has “dibsed” it!

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] are both really good. Of the two, I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] best but [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is really nice.

Others, a mix of UK-ish names I like, some clunkier than others:
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]/[name_m]Alastair[/name_m]
[name_m]Malachy[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] or if feeling up to it, [name_m]Eoin[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]/[name_m]Rhett[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_m]Piers[/name_m]
[name_m]Terence[/name_m]
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u]
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Tavish[/name_m]?

Thanks for all the ideas! My husband is super difficult with names. We had such a hard time choosing [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]'s name. [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] is so perfect to me but he can be pretty stubborn. I love suggestions of [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]/[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] but have a friend who used these names for her boys. [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] is another nice choice. [name_u]Owen[/name_u]/[name_m]Eoin[/name_m] is neat , hadn’t thought of that. I also like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m]. Someone suggested [name_m]Truman[/name_m] and we have a cat named [name_m]Trueman[/name_m]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] the name but obviously out ha. Also as [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a top choice, it’s a bit iffy b/c we also have a cat named [name_m]Hank[/name_m] ahah. [name_m]Angus[/name_m] is def a top contender, love the Scottish roots and still quite classic and traditional. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think my hubby wants anything too ‘out there.’

I like [name_m]Hamish[/name_m], [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]… [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is also adorable, of course…
