Realllllly need some help deciding on a name!! I have two names that I love but I just cannot decide between them⦠problem is my partner has a last name is that quite hard for names to match with! We both love the names [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] and [name_u]Blue[/name_u], her last name will be [name_m]Pollock[/name_m] so I donāt know what sounds better with this?? Or if to put the both together and have [name_u]Harlow[/name_u]-blu? But does this sound a bit weird?! super struggling with this please let me know what you think or if you have any middle names that match with either of these names. THANK YOU
I think both [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] [name_m]Pollack[/name_m] and [name_u]Blue[/name_u] [name_m]Pollack[/name_m] sound just fine. [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] [name_m]Pollack[/name_m] makes for a lovely full name, but I wouldnāt hyphenate [name_u]Harlow[/name_u]-[name_u]Blue[/name_u]. Double-barrel names arenāt my thing, unless perhaps the leading name is rather classic/traditional, but both of your current favs are very distinct and more unusual.
I think [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] is a lovely name! With the last name [name_m]Pollock[/name_m], it will be quite artistic [name_f]My[/name_f] opinion would be to, if you decide to use both names, keep them separate- [name_u]Harlow[/name_u]-blu/Harlow-blue might be a bit long!
Welcome to Nameberry! Between your two favourites I think [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] would be easier to wear for an adult in all adult/work professional situations although both are nice choices. I would like to also suggest [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] as I think [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_m]Pollock[/name_m] flows beautifully.
Iām going to add my vote for [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] (first name) [name_u]Blue[/name_u] (middle name) as well. [name_u]Harlow[/name_u] is fantastic: cool, chic, underused and interesting.
I really like [name_u]Blue[/name_u] as well but I think it works best as a middle name with your surname for two reasons:
As @dejectedpiglet says, [name_u]Blue[/name_u] [name_m]Pollock[/name_m] would be quite the artistic combo! I like that, but it feels more subtle in the middle spot.
Pollock is a type of fish, so āblue pollockā feels a bit too wordy and descriptive to me.
