My ex and I have 3 girls together. We’re expecting our 4th. I just found out it’s a girl. We have 3 other girls together. I have one other girl who is not his. We have a specific kind of name combo going on when it comes to names.
My first is Harper Grace, my second is Skyla Blake, third is Stella Rose, and fourth is Layla Joy. I have no idea what I want to name her. I’ve thought of some ideas, but once you have 4 girls, naming a 5th seems impossible, or at least to me. I’ve never really liked many names that my ex has wanted. From the beginning of the pregnancy, he wanted Luna for a girl. With past pregnancies, he liked Willa, he came up with Sky for Skyla, and Blake as well.
My favorite names that are on my list are Alice Daisy, Margot Mae, Sutton Jane, and Kaia Sage. I also really love the names Laurel and Lorelai. I know from the beginning of this pregnancy, he wanted to go along with the short first name ending in -la or -a, and having a one syllable middle name. However, I’m willing to stray from the path of using -la or -a for the ending of the name. I do like shorter names and I like the one syllable middle name trend we have going on.
I’m just having a really hard time trying to find a name that everyone likes. I really love Alice Daisy and Margot Mae - those are my two favorites.
Could you help me figure out a name to go with her siblings?
Definitely one of my favorites! I’m hoping maybe her dad will like it, but not too sure. I know he thought at the beginning “I don’t want a Maggie.” Maybe I can try again with [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
If you like [name_f]Alice[/name_f], how do you feel about [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]? Then you get the a ending but a similar name to one you like. You could always call [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for short too.
I like the sound of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] which would be a combination of your two favourites.
I like Margot Mae (or Margot Fleur) better than Alice Daisy - I think Margot ties in nicely with Harper specially, and is approachable and happy like the other names - Alice seems a bit too buttoned up. I think Sutton is maybe too odd as the unisex choice for a first name, but Kaia Sage (or Kaia Bell or Kaia Lou) would be lovely (I don’t love Sage for a girl but it flows well). I quite like Luna too but not right after Layla (too matchy) and I don’t think it’ll age as well as your other choices. I think Kaia Sage works best with your set of your options - ties in with endings and brings in the K of Skyla. It’s also a zippy, fresh name!

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is cute, but would disrupt your sibset in that [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is more classic than the other names you have + [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is 2 syllables. What if you did [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]?
