My husband’s favorite is [name]Alexa[/name] (nn [name]Lexi[/name]) but I keep thinking that it might be a bit dated and I’m not sure the name feels special enough to me. I am fairly set on the middle name [name]Winter[/name] but I don’t want to use it as a first name. We have a 2 year old son named [name]Liam[/name] [name]Rand[/name]. I had no idea that the name [name]Liam[/name] would become so popular but even if I had, I would still have chosen it as it just seemed perfect to us. I am looking for a girl’s name that also seems perfect but i am having a VERY difficult time. Any suggestions that are not on my list are also greatly appreciated!
From your list, my favorites are: [name]Aria[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] (adore the nn [name]Lottie[/name]), [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Juliette[/name] and [name]Alexa[/name]. If the only factor that’s turning you off of the name [name]Alexis[/name] is that you think it might be dated, I don’t think it is. My 4 year old, had 3 girls named [name]Alexis[/name] in her day camp last summer. It may not be the freshest name out there, but I definitely don’t see it as dated. If you just don’t like the name [name]Alexis[/name], then [name]Alexandra[/name] might be a nice alternative. You could still use the nn [name]Lexi[/name] with [name]Alexandra[/name].
i think alexa is a bit dated, too. i like annabel, evangeline, emmeline, aria, & charlotte alot! i really am loving aria alot lately & i think aria winter is very cool. liam & aria make great siblings. i think annabel would be a close second!
Would he do [name]Alexia[/name] rather than [name]Alexa[/name]? that feels cooler to me. [name]Alexia[/name] [name]Winter[/name] or [name]Annika[/name] [name]Winter[/name] sound the best to me, i love [name]Annika[/name]. [name]Aria[/name] sounds good with [name]Winter[/name] as well.
I like [name]Aria[/name], [name]Elena[/name], and [name]Emmeline[/name] the best. Not a big fan of [name]Alexa[/name] but that may be because I’ve had bad experiences with girls with that name. It sounds nice though.
I’m not a fan of [name]Alexis[/name] because I drive a [name]Lexus[/name] and it just sounds like I’m talking about my car and I don’t like [name]Alexia[/name] because I work with kids with learning disorders and alexia is a type of reading disorder. Neither one of us is particularly fond of the longer forms of the name like [name]Alexandra[/name] or [name]Alexandria[/name]. I hate to sound so picky but if there is one place to come to be picky about names, it’s here! I do appreciate the input! Anyone have any other ideas that aren’t on my list (which is kind of all over the place!)? We also like [name]Lydia[/name] a lot and would have used it but I didn’t have foresight 8 years ago when I gave the name to my dog Also love [name]Annalee[/name] [name]Elena[/name] which is a combination of my name, my mom’s name, my husband’s mom’s name and my grandmothers name but 3 out of 4 people we told the name to came up with a vulgar association so that name is also out even though I think it’s really pretty.
I think that [name]Juliet[/name] is one of the most beautiful names.
I don’t like alexia as it sounds like dyslexia.
And
Helena Isobel
Airlie Genevieve
Merida Annabel
[name]Juliet[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Anabel[/name], and [name]Elodie[/name] are all gorgeous choices. [name]Alexa[/name], [name]Alexis[/name] and [name]Alexia[/name] were all overused in the 90’s.
[name]Charlotte[/name] seems the closest to “popularity” to the name, [name]Liam[/name]. And it have many choices for nn’s. I also prefer [name]Alexandra[/name] with the nn, [name]Lexi[/name] to [name]Alexis[/name]. :). Good luck!
From your list my favourite would be [name]Juliette[/name], but only in the [name]Juliet[/name] spelling, I much prefer it and I think it is more classic and generally should prevent your daughter from having to correct peoples spelling of her name. I also love the nn’s [name]Letty[/name] & [name]Etta[/name] with this name, I think they are cute while still retaining a classically beautiful first name.
I also really like [name]Delaney[/name] & [name]Annika[/name], I think they both go really well with [name]Liam[/name]
Personally, I’m not a fan of the whole [name]Alexa[/name]/[name]Alexia[/name]/[name]Alexis[/name] name group, I just find it a bit dated. Also, I don’t really like names like [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], they’re just a bit much in my opinion.
I agree that [name]Alexa[/name] sounds a bit dated, but what about moving it to the mn? From your list, I like [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Sasha[/name], and [name]Annika[/name] the best with [name]Liam[/name]. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Alexa[/name] or [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Alexa[/name] work well. I also think [name]Liam[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] sound cute if you use that as a nn for [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Annika[/name]. Also, [name]Sasha[/name] can be a nn for [name]Alexandra[/name], so if you used that it would kind of incorporate the [name]Alexa[/name] meaning at least.
I agree that the [name]Alex[/name] names ([name]Alexa[/name], [name]Alexis[/name] etc) were a tad over used in the 90s.
[name]Emmeline[/name], Evangaline and [name]Hadley[/name] seem like fresher choices to me.
[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Winter[/name] is beautiful.
Evangaline [name]Winter[/name] is still good, but a bit of a mouthful. Evangaline [name]Aria[/name]??? Evangaline [name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name] [name]Winter[/name] is too hard for me… perhaps [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Hadley[/name] [name]Annabel[/name].
