I’m surprised [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] isn’t getting as much love as the others - it and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] are my favourites!
Personally, I don’t like [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] for a first name.
What about [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f]?
Go with [name_f]Anthea[/name_f]
What about [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]? I love daphne
I chose [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]…what about [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] - I voted for this first as it is my favourite, though I much prefer it spelt [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] as the e on the end looks unnecessary.
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] - I also voted for [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] as its a beautiful feminine name that is far too underused.
As far as the others go, I dislike them, apart from [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but its very very popular at the moment that I’ve grown bored of it.
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! It’s such simple, elegant perfection!
The only ones on your list that I’m not feeling are [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and [name_f]Maeva[/name_f]. I really just prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] to [name_f]Maeva[/name_f], and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is nice but quite trendy compared to the other classics you have to choose from.
I voted [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. If [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] had been [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], I would’ve chosen that. The others just don’t do anything for me.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]?
Our dog is [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
I chose the spelling of [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] because it has personal significance for me. (It is kind of an “honor” name.)
Thank you all for the input. I think I’m probably too insanely picky about this. I realize that this isn’t the case with some of the selections in my poll, but I would really love a FN that goes with the MN [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (family names).
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t love [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] but it would make a great middle:
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
These three are my favorites. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] would work as a mn for any of them as well (though [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] not so much!)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] have to say - I named my toddler [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], and we get compliments all the time. It’s the perfect mixture of classic but unheard today. We call her [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], which fits her great with her big rosie toddler cheeks, but [name_u]Romy[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] are both cute nicknames too, not to mention going with full name.
Of your other options, I really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] (without the “a” on the end), if a one-syllable name would work with your last name. It’s got a great meaning. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is super cute too, although I got the impression it was on the popularity rise.
Congrats!
I voted for [name_f]Anthea[/name_f], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]! Good luck!
[name_f]Susan[/name_f]
You hit the nail on the head. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is great, and I like it, but one syllable sounds really funny with our last name. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] the variation.
I personally don’t care for #4, #5 and #6.
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f], [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are my favourites.
My Top 3:
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] - svelte, sophisticated, refined. My favorite.
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] - Very unusual but still feminine and attractive. [name_u]Love[/name_u] nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] - [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_f]Dora[/name_f]…so many awesome nn options
Thanks to all for the input!
