Stumbled across the name Iden...

So I love the name [name]Eden[/name] for a boy, the hebrew name that’s pronounced Eh-den.
However, with the well known girl’s [name]Eden[/name], he’d just be given grief over it. Which saddens me, because it’s a really great name.

Anyways, I saw the name Iden yesterday, and I think I might like it. I did some quick research and came with some orgins and meanings:

English – From The [name]Marsh[/name] [name]Land[/name] Pasture
Celtic – Wealthy
Old English - Prosperous

What are your thoughts on the name Iden? I think it’s a nice replacement for [name]Eden[/name], but I don’t love it for the first name spot. It’s mostly middle name material to me.

I don’t mind it. I’ve never heard it before but it could grow on me.

I like the sound of it. If you like the sound of Iden/[name]Eden[/name], I thought I’d suggest the name [name]Idun[/name] to you. It’s a girl name though, the name of a Norse goddess who kept the other gods young by providing them apples of eternal youth. OT maybe;)

I think Iden could work, although there could be some pronunciation issues over Ih-den or Eye-den. I knew a guy called [name]Idan[/name] (EE-dan), also a Hebrew name meaning “era”.

Is Iden pronounced EYE-din or EE-din? If it’s the latter, I’d just got with [name]Eden[/name].
I like [name]Eden[/name] on a boy; not long ago I heard a little boy being called [name]Eden[/name] around where I live.

If you just say it, but don’t read/write it, do you think people may mistake it for [name]Aiden[/name]?

Oooh, good point.

I say it Eye-[name]Den[/name], but it is very close to [name]Aiden[/name], and I’m waaaaay over those names.

I do know a boy named [name]Idan[/name] (eye-den).

What about [name]Ivan[/name]? Great name I would consider if it weren’t so close to my daughter’s name ([name]Eden[/name])

I’m using the name [name]Idan[/name], which is similar to Iden as one of the characters in a story of mine. I like both.
