I don’t see the problem with the endings of your name and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. If you love it, use it.

[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] feels like the perfect name for your baby. So what that it has the same -da ending as your name, I don’t think they are similar at all and also, it could be a subtle nod to you, her mother. I feel like the other names on your list, despite being very beautiful would be playing it safe next to [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and I honestly think you should go with your heart on this one. I’m certain that once baby is here, they will grow used to it and will learn to attach that name to the baby and will even forget that one day they bashed on it. This is coming from personal experience, having a son named [name_m]Marvin[/name_m] and a daughter named [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]!
I personally do prefer the other names on your list, as I prefer classic/timeless names and nowadays [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is too linked to the video game and therefore sounds very modern to me.
However, it’s not a bad name and definitely “real”, so if you love it, you should go with it.
Thank you all!! We’re still grappling with the idea, but warming more and more to ‘rocking it’.
Thanks!! We really enjoy the game as well, so that isn’t a turn off at all.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t tell anyone else!
Name her [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and meet any future criticism head on by saying… She’s named after ME, but with a twist to make the name her own!
I think she’ll love the tie to you!
Use the name you love for your child. You know best.
If anyone is unkind, just say that you have found the right name and you are not asking for their input. You can nicely tell them you prefer support with the choice you’ve made.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. I love names with “z’s” in them, so beginning with a Z is even more perfect.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it. You love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], so [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] she should be!
[name_m]Hence[/name_m], the reason to ask only strangers…everyone has an opinion.
If you feel a strong love for the name, then go for it. I think [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is in a league of its own and can’t really be compared to other “da” ending names.
I love it. I wouldn’t be able to deal with the association with the game because I don’t like video games, but I think it’s a beautiful name. My first association, believe it or not, is with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m], not the game.
As for it being too “matchy” with [name_f]Jayda[/name_f], I think it’s actually cute. It’s not matchy, but it is a cute nod at your name, which I think is nice.
I say go for it, though [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] are beautiful as well.
I love the name [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and think you should use it since you seem to love it so much.
If you love it, use it! People will always have an opinion about any name you choose. I like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] best out of all your listed names - it is not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. I think it is cute and different.
I don’t think it is too “matchy matchy” with your name at all. They are totally different styles of name.
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] are not too matchy-matchy to me. It’s not cheesy or too cutesy or whatever. [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is not my cup of tea either, but if it is the name you choose for your daughter, don’t let your friends make you doubt about it!
My bestfriend has the names of her kids chosen for a long time and I don’t like them, but I will learn to love them because I will love her kids. And they should do the same with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. Respect your choice and embrace it because they are going to love your [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], doesn’t matter what her name is.
