Suggestions for a compromise

My husband and I have not agreed on a name yet for our 2nd little girl Due in [name]March[/name]. Big sister is [name]Elinor[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name]) [name]Kate[/name] Landenwich. Can you help with a compromise? Here are mine and my husband’s picks.
Mine:
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]

Husband:
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Adelle[/name]

Thanks, [name]Krista[/name]

[name]How[/name] about [name]Idaline[/name] (you can call her [name]Isla[/name] for short)

I don’t know if I can be much help because I [name]LOVE[/name] all of your names! [name]Both[/name] yours AND his!!! I’ll list some ideas, with the hopes of helping a bit!
I think you could get away with using one off your list as a fn and one from his as a mn…or vice versa
i.e.
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Adelle[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]

Mine:
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]

Husband:
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Adelle[/name]

[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Auden[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Lilia[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Audria[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Julissa[/name]
[name]Lorelei[/name]

What about [name]Emery[/name] [name]Mathilda[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Adele[/name]?

[name]Elinor[/name] “[name]Ellie[/name]” [name]Kate[/name] Landenwich is great! From your choices, here is what I notice: You seem to have a preference for feminine, fun names that are unusual but not necessarily all classic. Your husband seems to like unusual classic names, especially those ending in -line. If I were you, I would combine [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name] into [name]Madeline[/name]. I prefer the ‘mad-eh-lin’ pronunciation, but either is fine. That way, you can use the cute [name]Maddie[/name] nickname, which compliments the trendy, spunky [name]Ellie[/name] nickname that [name]Elinor[/name] already has. [name]Elinor[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name] both have the same number of syllables, too…

I don’t know if you want to use names you already like for middle names, but I’d do something like [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Clare[/name] Landenwich, or even [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Rose[/name], so the name has the same feel as [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Kate[/name].

Best of luck to you!

[name]Isla[/name] - Not sure of any suggestions here. =/
[name]Matilda[/name] - [name]Mathilde[/name]? [name]Madeleine[/name]?
[name]Juliet[/name] - [name]Julia[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Julie[/name].
[name]Fiona[/name] - [name]Finola[/name].

[name]Emery[/name] - [name]Ember[/name]?
[name]Emmeline[/name] - [name]Emily[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Elle[/name]?
[name]Adeline[/name] - Hm.
[name]Adelle[/name] - Alternative spelling ‘[name]Adele[/name]’?

[name]Isla[/name]: I love [name]Isla[/name], but [name]Isla[/name] Landenwich is hard for to say because of the back-to-back L sounds.

[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]/[name]Cora[/name] (although [name]Cora[/name] L spells "coral…)
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] (only if you like alliteration, of course)
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Matilda[/name]: I love [name]Matilda[/name], and think it’s great with [name]Elinor[/name] and your last name!

[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name])
[name]Eloise[/name] (not the best with your last name)
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] (nn [name]Maisie[/name] or [name]Daisy[/name])
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] (I love [name]Phoebe[/name] Landenwich!)
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Poppy[/name])
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]

[name]Juliet[/name]: I love Juilet!

[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] (oops…too close to [name]Elinor[/name])

[name]Fiona[/name]: I think this is such a great name!

[name]Flora[/name] (kind of close to [name]Elinor[/name]'s sound, though)
[name]Ailsa[/name]
[name]Bryony[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name] (super popular, though)

I really love your list!

Husband:
[name]Emery[/name]: I can better see a more classic or vintage name with [name]Eleanor[/name].

[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name] (nn [name]Emme[/name])
[name]Cecily[/name] (I think that lia endings work better with your last name, though)
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Hilary[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Emmeline[/name]: I love [name]Emmeline[/name] so much, but I get tongue tied with the Ls when I say [name]Emmeline[/name] Landenwich.

[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]

[name]Adeline[/name]: See [name]Emmeline[/name]…

[name]Adelia[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]

[name]Adelle[/name]: See [name]Emmeline[/name]…With [name]Elinor[/name], I think I’d pick something without an [name]Elle[/name] ending.

[name]Adelia[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name]

You have such a great list, [name]Krista[/name]! I never realized how many first names contain L in the last syllable ! I erased a lot of names when I remembered your last name (ie [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Camille[/name], [name]Mirabel[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name]…).

I really love [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Kate[/name]!

Best wishes to you!

I like all of the names. Here are some more ideas. Good luck finding your compromise.
[name]Lilah[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Mariah[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Leia[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Alina[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]

You both have great taste, by the way!
Some of these will probably be repeats. I’m going to suggest some names that to me are similar to the names you already have. Good luck finding a good compromise!

Mine:
[name]Isla[/name]: [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]: [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Millicent[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]: [name]Julietta[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Scarlet[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]: [name]Freya[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name]

Husband:
[name]Emery[/name]: [name]Emme[/name], [name]Emerald[/name], [name]Esme[/name], [name]Avery[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]: [name]Clementine[/name] ("[name]Emme[/name]"), [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]: [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adelia[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Adelle[/name]: [name]Stella[/name], [name]Estelle[/name], [name]Della[/name], [name]Delia[/name]

Others that might work for you: [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Tessa[/name], [name]Daphne[/name]
I also love some of the first middle name combos already suggested.

[name]Just[/name] a few more suggestions:

[name]Allegra[/name]
[name]Addison[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]

Wow what a great list of names and suggestions!

I won’t add but wanted to say that my favorite suggestion is [name]Evangeline[/name] nn [name]Eva[/name]. [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] make an adorable sib set!

Thank you all for your compliments and suggestions. Some I have been considering: [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] “[name]Josie[/name]”, [name]Phoebe[/name]. I feel like my husband’s choices are too similar to our first daughter, but I know at least one of us will have to compromise on the name.

[name]Hi[/name]! I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Phoebe[/name] Landenwich, and think they’re great with [name]Elinor[/name]!

Best wishes!

Much as I adore the name [name]Lorelei[/name], I don’t think it goes with [name]Elinor[/name]. All those Ls and the or sound clash for me.

I do think [name]Elinor[/name] and [name]Adele[/name] are lovely together. [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Addy[/name] are lovely!

I think [name]Josephine[/name] is lovely as well. There are several nicknames for [name]Josephine[/name]… [name]Josie[/name], [name]Posey[/name], [name]Effy[/name], [name]Joey[/name]…
