We cannot seem to agree on a name for this baby. His middle name has to be [name]Hardy[/name]. My favorites are [name]Callum[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] (by far my top choice and I will be sad when we don’t get to use it) and [name]Lucas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]. My husband’s top choice is [name]Seamus[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] and while it is cute and flows nicely, no one will say it correctly where we live and I just can’t love it. He says he wants a names that is somewhat unique ans sounds strong. We both are ok with [name]Charles[/name]([name]Charlie[/name] though he prefers chuck) and [name]Xavier[/name]. At least I think I’m ok with [name]Xavier[/name] haha. He has vetoed all of the following: callum, [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Greyson[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Levi[/name],[name]Reid[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name]. Any other suggestions? What do you think of charlie or [name]Xavier[/name]? Our last name is 3syllables and starts with a c, if that helps.
Thanks,
I don’t think I like [name]Xavier[/name] with your last name as a 3-3 syllable pairing doesn’t always sound great. [name]Charles[/name] is okay, not my favorite and I really don’t like [name]Chuck[/name].
You had some nice names that got vetoed. : /
Would you consider [name]Shea[/name] instead of [name]Seamus[/name]?
Other ideas:
[name]Sander[/name]
[name]Evander[/name]
[name]Elias[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Boaz[/name]
[name]Gable[/name]
I love [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Xavier[/name]! [name]How[/name] are you saying [name]Xavier[/name]? I always say it ZAYV-yer, but it seems like most people say EX-ave-yer instead. I think [name]Charles[/name] [name]Hardy[/name], nn [name]Charlie[/name], would be just adorable. I love [name]Charlie[/name]!
Hrm, what about [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Hardy[/name], nn [name]Gabe[/name], possibly? I think that’s nice! Or you could even use nn [name]Gable[/name] that @sunshine.10 suggested. Other ideas:
[name]Noah[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Jules[/name] or even [name]Ian[/name] with this)
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] (or [name]Benedict[/name])
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Simon[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]/[name]Silas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
Good luck!
Loving [name]Callum[/name] and [name]Seamus[/name], but I agree that [name]Seamus[/name] could get some pronunciation issues…
Some others:
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Aaron[/name]
I love [name]Callum[/name], too bad your husband isn’t on board. [name]How[/name] about [name]Declan[/name]?
more ideas-
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Dane[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Damon[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Trent[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
I love [name]Charles[/name], esp. with nn [name]Arlo[/name]. Perhaps [name]Arlo[/name] would help make it more unique or special? (I do like [name]Charlie[/name]…eh on [name]Chuck[/name].) [name]Xavier[/name] isn’t my jam, but I think it works fine.
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] (I know [name]Finn[/name] was nixed…)
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Nolan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Brent[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Garrett[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] or [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Ian[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Evan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] or [name]Everett[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
[name]Asa[/name] [name]Hardy[/name]
ThAnks! I really love some of the suggestions [name]Owen[/name] in particular. I thought of a few more he has vetoed [name]Declan[/name] [name]Colin[/name] [name]Connor[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name]. Oh and [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name]. This is so hard. I bought naming our third child was a challenge but it was a picnic comparatively. I also thought [name]Julian[/name] with [name]Ian[/name] as a mn is adorable but it sounds almost exactly like my name. We would say [name]Xavier[/name] with th z sound so I worry he would constantly be correcting. [name]How[/name] do you all feel about [name]Jude[/name]? Are there any calums out there where I could show dh and convince him it’s cool and manly? Haha. Sorry about typos iPod!
While I don’t know of any examples of a manly [name]Callum[/name] (or really any [name]Callum[/name] actually) I think the nn [name]Cal[/name] is definitely a cool and manly nn, while at the same time preserving the softness of the full [name]Callum[/name].
Good luck!
Hah. Thanks. I googled and the first link I got read “[name]Callum[/name] Best likes hookers and drugs!” somehow, I don’t think that helps my cause. Haha. My oldest daughter really likes [name]Charlie[/name] so I think I may be leaning that way.
I like [name]Jude[/name] a lot! Or you could even do [name]Julian[/name] nn [name]Jude[/name], if you really like [name]Julian[/name].
I don’t know a [name]Callum[/name], personally, but a big plus for me personally is the meaning “dove”–I like that it’s so peaceful! Here’s a link to a survey actual Callums took about what it was like to have their name, it might be a useful tool:
There’s also an actor called [name]Callum[/name] [name]Blue[/name], but I don’t know if he’s really a good association or not. I’ve never really heard of him before. I didn’t get the [name]Callum[/name] Best article at all, lol.
The only other association to [name]Calum[/name]/[name]Callum[/name] I can think of is the Disney actor, [name]Calum[/name] [name]Worthy[/name]. He plays this bumbling, stupid kid on the show [name]Austin[/name] and [name]Ally[/name]–I think the show is cute (yes, Disney shows are my GP, lol), but his character is SO annoying! lol. So I’m not sure that’s the best association, either, haha. But as far as kids go, he seems pretty put together and such. I don’t really know much about him outside the show, though.
I had no idea that kid’s real name was [name]Calum[/name], [name]Austin[/name] and [name]Ally[/name] is a big hit at my house. Thanks for the link to the survey. I’m going to try and sell him on it some more. I hope if I just suggest it over and over it will grow on him.
