I posted last week Begging for ideas because we cannot pick! He likes [name]Seamus[/name] I like calum. We are both ok with [name]Charlie[/name] and alexander. I want to love the name though. What do you think of [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] C.? My husband has oked a name only to hate it two days later but I think I like this one and he seems to as well. Oh yeah the mn has to be [name]Hardy[/name]. Our last name is 3 syllables and scotch/Irish.
I love [name]Sullivan[/name]! I just think it’s so handsome and the nickname [name]Sully[/name] is great too.
I love, love, love [name]Sullivan[/name]. I think it is a nice balance between [name]Seamus[/name] and [name]Callum[/name].
Oooo! I like it!
I’ve always loved [name]Sullivan[/name]. I think it’s a terrific name and like a pp pointed out, it seems like a perfect combination of your two favorites. And, I think it goes very well with the mn.
[name]Sullivan[/name] is actually starting to grow on me! I’m not to fond of [name]Sully[/name] as a nn but [name]Sullivan[/name] as a full name is really nice.
Thanks! I’m starting to get excited thinking we may have settled on something! I’m too afraid to mention it to anyone [name]IRL[/name] for fear that someone won’t like it and we’ll start questioning again. Here’s hoping my husband doesn’t have a change of heart on this one.
I love [name]Sullivan[/name] too!
I wholeheartedly agree with the thought of not telling anyone [name]IRL[/name]!
As long as they don’t think it’s 100% settled, people will offer up lots of criticism, without thinking. This isn’t Their baby to name, it’s you and your husband’s! And sometimes the people who influence us the most can be the most critical and callous.
We have never mentioned names to anyone [name]IRL[/name], until we Announced that these were Going to be the names. And, I was very glad of that. The reception we got from friends was good, but family (on each side) was a different story. The nicest any immediate family members were (his parents), simply took a cue from “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”, and basically just acknowledged the names and immediately changed the subject to something cute their dogs did! My mother’s first words after we announced the twin’s names was: “Well now, you don’t want to name them something that will hold them back in life.” And went into how she never liked her name and about some other girl she went to elementary school with who had a horrible name and how quiet and reserved she always was (that mom attributed to her name).
Making sure that WE were 100% on the names helped a great deal. Their reactions just made me roll my eyes and get mad that they couldn’t even pretend to be a little supportive. If we had heard their Real, unedited thoughts while we were still trying to decide, I’d still be searching for names!
I like [name]Sullivan[/name] It think it’s cute and if I didn’t know someone with that last name (and it sounded better with my last name) I’d seriously think about using it myself
[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] sounds awesome and I actually quite like [name]Sully[/name] as a nn
[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] is incredibly handsome and a fabulous choice!
we have a 3 month old [name]Sullivan[/name] - we both agreed we love it - no convincing needed. nn [name]Sully[/name] is fitting and [name]Van[/name] someday too. calum Is a great choice too
Thanks again! [name]Isolde[/name], I happened to notice the name for your new little one, [name]Bram[/name] as a nickname for [name]Abram[/name] is so cute. I love it! [name]Stephanie[/name], I’m glad I’m not the only one who is hesitant to share the name [name]IRL[/name]. We weren’t like this with any of our others, but there’s been so much pressure from his family and mine to use [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] that I just know we’re going to get endless comments. I told me sister and she didn’t really say much either way. I know she won’t say she hates it and I know it’ll grow on her so it seemed safe to test out.
