This is the first time I’m thinking of it on a boy and honestly I love it. I wouldn’t worry about it not aging well at all because my first thought when I considered it on a boy was of a handsome young well mannered man with a bit of a soft country vibe. Feels sorta like a western gentleman. I can totally see it as a lead characters name in a country romance film.
I also love [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]/[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as a nn for it.
The name has always been meh to me for a girl. I always preferred [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] nn [name_u]Win[/name_u] used to be the one I found more masculine but now I’m on the side of a boy [name_f]Summer[/name_f].
Paired with a strong masculine middle it would sound even more stunning.
I think most people wouldn’t have thought if it as unisex but Probably only in a “hadn’t considered it” kinda way and less of a “that’s only a girls name” kinda way. So there might be a bit of confusion at first, sure.
I don’t think he’ll get lots of comments, nah the way people are naming their kids nowadays people are forced to be more open minded. And how girls are given strongly masculine names and unisex names are in for both sex’s his classmates won’t think much of it even if there’s a girl in his class named [name_f]Summer[/name_f], it’ll be just like two alex’s Or two [name_u]Riley[/name_u]’s to them so I wouldn’t worry about him being teased.
