Okay really needing some direction when it comes to boys names. We already have a baby girl named [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and I am so stuck on the boys name Alder. BUT IT IS SO SIMILAR. I obviously can’t choose it. My husband really would like to use a family name, but I am not a huge fan of any he comes up with, [name_m]Paul[/name_m] or [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]. HELP! I love surnames and tend to get attached to ones like that, especially with a strong, vintage feel but also a organic feel as well. I’d like to have a boy name that stands alone.
Currently liking but unsure/can’t use:
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
Alder
[name_m]Turner[/name_m]
[name_u]Calder[/name_u] comes to mind. One letter off from Alder, but seems to eliminate the matchiness with [name_u]Arden[/name_u]. [name_m]Thayer[/name_m] and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] also came to mind.
Agreed: [name_u]Calder[/name_u] is a great suggestion! From your list, [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] is lovely and sounds great with [name_u]Arden[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Calder[/name_u]! [name_u]Walker[/name_u] is also a great suggestion. If you’re feeling this new one you’re a girl after my own heart, it’s a fave of mine and also a tree name: [name_u]Cedar[/name_u].
Ha, I was curious after this and checked your post history - girl, you’re obsessed! If there were lobbyists for names, I’d suspect you as a [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m] lobby shill! Too funny.
Surname-names are not generally my thing unless they have some history as as given names, but here are some that might fit your bill:
