Take a look at my list?

Hello Nameberries!

Boys:
[name]Leander[/name] - I haven’t heard this a lot, which makes it even better. Great, handsome, original name!

[name]Nicholas[/name] - I’ve never really loved this because I know SOO many [name]Nick[/name]'s. [name]Cole[/name] as a nickname would be cool.

[name]Dexter[/name] - I looove this! [name]Dex[/name] is so cool!

[name]Leon[/name] - I can see the appeal. I prefer [name]Leonard[/name] as a fn

[name]Oliver[/name] - Great, classic, sweet, but very common.

[name]William[/name] - I love this. No other way to put it, the perfect name. Very common where I’m from though :frowning:

[name]Jasper[/name] - [name]Ive[/name] heard a lot of this lately. I think its cool. Could become too trendy? At this point though, I think its great!

[name]Thomas[/name] - A bit plain. [name]Tommy[/name] is a cute nn when he is little.

[name]Harvey[/name] - For some reason I hate this. The fast food restaurant maybe? or the fact that it reminds me of a snobby frat boy…?

[name]Frederic[/name] - Alright. I’m basically neutral on this name.

[name]Peter[/name] - Again, Im neutral on this.

Girls:
[name]Alice[/name] - My sister’s name so I love it.

[name]Juliette[/name] - I’ve never been a fan. I like [name]Julia[/name] better.

[name]Phoebe[/name] - I love this. It might be a bit popular? Not sure. And I wonder how it fits in with the other girl names…

[name]Vera[/name] - Pretty, simple. I like it.

[name]Patience[/name] - I don’t like this. A bit tacky…

[name]Seraphine[/name] - Pretty. It has my name [name]Sarah[/name] in it, so I like it

[name]Amelie[/name] - Too close to [name]Emily[/name] for me. I have 6 [name]Emily[/name] friends.

[name]Catherine[/name] - Gorgeous! Classic! Great!

[name]Virginia[/name] - [name]Ive[/name] always loved this name! [name]Vera[/name] for nn maybe?

[name]Sylvia[/name] - Gorgeous vintage name! [name]Lovely[/name]!

I would love to see [name]Dexter[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name] as a sib set. That would be cute, original and interesting!
[name]Dexter[/name] [name]William[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]

I hope I helped !

[name]Leander[/name]: I actually really like [name]Leander[/name]. I think it has a classic but still modern feel to it.

[name]Nicholas[/name]: I have a friend named [name]Nicholas[/name], who goes by [name]Nick[/name], and he is one of the funniest kids I know, so I think this name is great.

[name]Dexter[/name]: I love the name [name]Dexter[/name]! I love it, it’s wonderful.

[name]Leon[/name]: Not crazy about [name]Leon[/name]… I just don’t like the sound of it.

[name]Oliver[/name]: I like [name]Oliver[/name]. I think it’s cute, and it’s definitely classic but modern.

[name]William[/name]: Classic, but a little boring to me. I like the nickname [name]Liam[/name], though.

[name]Jasper[/name]: I adore the name [name]Jasper[/name]! I love it, love it so much.

[name]Thomas[/name]: While I like [name]Thomas[/name], I don’t like it nearly as much as your other names. It’s still a nice, classic name.

[name]Harvey[/name]: I love the name [name]Harvey[/name]! I think it’s so cute and fun. [name]Love[/name] it.

[name]Frederic[/name]: I like [name]Frederic[/name], but not nearly as much as the other names.

[name]Peter[/name]: Not crazy about [name]Peter[/name].

Girls:
[name]Alice[/name]: [name]Alice[/name] is beautiful and classic. I love this.

[name]Juliette[/name]: I think this is pretty, but [name]Juliette[/name] always feels like a little too much for me.

[name]Phoebe[/name]: So cute and quirky, but I prefer it on a Corgi than on a person. Lol

[name]Vera[/name]: Very pretty, but it’s not my style. But I can see the appeal of it.

[name]Patience[/name]: I’m not crazy about virtue names, but I do like the sound of [name]Patience[/name]. It’s really pretty.

[name]Seraphine[/name]: This was the name of my mom’s uncle, so I can’t see it on a girl. [name]Seraphina[/name] feels more feminine to me.

[name]Amelie[/name]: I love [name]Amelie[/name], despite a bad experience with a little girl named [name]Amelie[/name]. But I think it’s beautiful.

[name]Catherine[/name]: So simple and classic, yet it’s still beautiful. [name]Love[/name] [name]Catherine[/name].

[name]Virginia[/name]: Not crazy about [name]Virginia[/name], but I do like the nickname [name]Ginny[/name].

[name]Sylvia[/name]: I don’t really like [name]Sylvia[/name].

My favorites are: [name]Dexter[/name], [name]Harvey[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], and [name]Alice[/name].

I love your list! I’m the same-- there are tons of names I love but that a future child probably wouldn’t appreciate having.

[name]Leander[/name]: I love [name]Leander[/name]! I’m not sure how usable it is right now, though.

[name]Nicholas[/name]: It’s a perfectly fine name, but I’ve never really gotten excited by it.

[name]Dexter[/name]: I have a bad association with a [name]Dexter[/name]…

[name]Leon[/name]: I much prefer [name]Leo[/name], but it’s a fine name.

[name]Oliver[/name]: I love [name]Oliver[/name], but it’s sort of trendy.

[name]William[/name]: [name]William[/name] is one of my favorites!

[name]Jasper[/name]: I love [name]Jasper[/name], but recently it’s started lose its appeal for me. What about [name]Caspar[/name]?

[name]Thomas[/name]: See [name]Nicholas[/name]

[name]Harvey[/name]: This is the only name on your list that I don’t really like…

[name]Frederic[/name]: I really like [name]Frederic[/name], and this spelling

[name]Peter[/name]: I love [name]Peter[/name]!

[name]Alice[/name]: [name]Alice[/name] is lovely! One of my favorites, I think…

[name]Juliette[/name]: I love [name]Juliet[/name]-- I can’t decide which spelling I prefer.

[name]Phoebe[/name]: [name]Phoebe[/name] is great!

[name]Vera[/name]: For some reason, it seems more of a nickname than a full name, but I don’t like any of the full names it would be a nickname for.

[name]Patience[/name]: I’ve always disliked [name]Patience[/name]. It seems more like an order than a name.

[name]Seraphine[/name]: I love [name]Seraphine[/name]-- I prefer it to [name]Seraphina[/name]; not as frilly.

[name]Amelie[/name]: I love [name]Amelie[/name], too…

[name]Catherine[/name]: This is my favorite spelling. Very nice name, though a little boring for me.

[name]Virginia[/name]: I’ve never liked it.

[name]Sylvia[/name]: I love [name]Sylvia[/name]!

My favorites are [name]Leander[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], and [name]Sylvia[/name]!

Thank you for replying bondsarah80, rachelmarie and irisrose!

  • bondsarah80 that’s a great idea of [name]Virginia[/name] nn [name]Vera[/name], do you think that would actually work? I love it when the full names have nick names you love just as much. [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] would make a cool sib-set huh?

Any other replies are still welcome!

Nice list! Here are my thoughts:

[name]Leander[/name] - I like [name]Leander[/name], but I don’t like [name]Lee[/name] as a nn. Not sure if that’s avoidable or not. I’d probably use as a middle.

[name]Nicholas[/name] - [name]Just[/name] too popular for me.

[name]Dexter[/name] - Quirky and cool. Like this a lot!

[name]Leon[/name] - Not a fan, but I can’t put my finger on why.

[name]Oliver[/name] - I like this too although it feels a touch effeminate.

[name]William[/name] - I love this because it has great nn’s but I actually prefer [name]Liam[/name] or [name]Will[/name] on their own.

[name]Jasper[/name] - I love, love, love [name]Jasper[/name] and would consider using it myself but I hate [name]Jazz[/name] as a nn, which is a problem :frowning:

[name]Thomas[/name] - I would only use this as a mn. I know it’s a classic but this still feels a bit dated to me and I don’t care for [name]Tom[/name].

[name]Harvey[/name] - there was a hugely overweight kid in my grade school class named [name]Harvey[/name], who liked to eat paste. Enough said.

[name]Frederic[/name] - not a fan of this one. Feels too ethnic with just the c ending and I don’t like [name]Fred[/name] or [name]Freddie[/name] as nn’s.

[name]Peter[/name] - just OK for me.

[name]Alice[/name] - nice but for me it only works on a blonde.

[name]Juliette[/name] - OK

[name]Phoebe[/name] - one of my favorites but I worry that it feels a little ditzy.

[name]Vera[/name] - my least favorite.

[name]Patience[/name] - I’m not a big fan of most virtue names, plus there are no good nn’s. Might work as a middle.

[name]Seraphine[/name] - Very pretty, but don’t love [name]Sera[/name] as a nn.

[name]Amelie[/name] - beautiful but it sounds too close to [name]Emily[/name]. I’m afraid she would always be correcting the spelling.

[name]Catherine[/name] - classic but a bit dull.

[name]Virginia[/name] - [name]Ginny[/name] is nice, although I worry about naming a girl something that contains the word “virgin”.

[name]Sylvia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name]. One of my favorites on your list (although I think I like [name]Sylvie[/name] even better).

[name]Hope[/name] this is helpful!

It was helpful, thanks for replying! It’s always nice to see what others think.
