Talitha as a first name?

I’ve seen [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] mentioned here before as a possibility for a middle name, but I’m wondering what you all think of it as a first name. It means “little girl” in Aramaic and is part of the Biblical phrase “talitha koum (little girl arise)”. It goes hand in hand with my current rabid love of Biblical names, and I was curious as to your thoughts. (As a note, I pronounce it [name_m]Tah[/name_m]-lee-thah.)

Also, what do you think of the possible sister set of of [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Selah[/name_f]?

I think if you want biblical names, both are pretty. [name_f]Selah[/name_f] is a little more commonly used- but not overly used or anything.

I love both of those names! Although I might lean a little more towards [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] (:

I looovve [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] (and I pronounce it the same way you do). I have it on my own list, though I doubt I’ll ever actually get a chance to use it. I love it because it sounds beautiful and has a lovely starry connection.

[name_f]Talitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Selah[/name_f] sound great as sisters. Possible names for another sis: [name_f]Carina[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f].

A friend’s sister is named [name_f]Talitha[/name_f]. They call her T. I think it’s pretty
