Talk to Me about Corliss

I had my girls list whittled down, and suddenly in the last few days I have had an inkling to open it back up again.

[name]Corliss[/name] has been off and on my list before. To me, it feels beautiful.

(I do have a concern about the ending running into our last name… it does not begin with an ‘S’ but it does begin with ‘Es’. Oh, and also getting my other half to fall for it too, that is important too, ha.)

What are your thoughts on it? What would you think of a little girl/young lady with this name?

I’ve always found [name]Corliss[/name] very appealing, but more in an edgy way…kind of. I would be extremely pleased to meet a little girl or young woman with this name. It’s not outwardly feminine, which may or may not be considered a good thing, but nicknames Liss or Lissy would be cute to girl it up a bit. [name]Corlissa[/name] is also a possibility. I like [name]Corliss[/name], though! (The only bad association I have is someone on Yahoo once said that it sounds like a drunk person slurring the word cordless…never got that off my mind) Btw, I also used to love the name Coriander. It has a similar feel to [name]Corliss[/name] imo.

I’ve always liked it, and I’m surprised it doesn’t get mentioned that much on here. I think it’s very girly but in a sleek sparkly way, not in a sickly sweet way. I see it as a cute alternative to [name]Alice[/name]; I feel it’s one of the few names that have that same whimsical, yet strong feel that [name]Alice[/name] is famous for. However, [name]Corliss[/name] is softer, more cute-feminine.

The only problem I have is that it can sound like ‘core less’ at times, but I would love to see a young lady with the name; I think it’s very wearable in the professional world.

I like it! It seems soft, but definitely has a sparkly, but definite edge to it. Feels like a fantasy name, like [name]Coraline[/name], but a wearable one!
