What are your honest opinions on [name_u]Scout[/name_u]?
It’s my husbands unwavering favorite, so I’m leaning closer & closer to using it. My only worry is, how practical is it in real life?
Also, if you were going to pair a middle name with [name_u]Scout[/name_u], what would you use? Out front runner is [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Nola[/name_f].
I think it’s a cute nickname, but it has a definite tomboy personality, and if you end up with a quiet girly girl she might hate it. I also have trouble picturing it on an adult.
There was a girl in my dorm last year named [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and while I never met her, obviously she was able to successfully get into college with her name. I love [name_u]Scout[/name_u] on its own!
Since you asked for honest opinions, I will admit that every time I see the name [name_u]Scout[/name_u] I just think of To Kill a Mockingbird. Otherwise I think of Boy/Girl Scouts. I don’t love it as a first name on its own, but it’s a perfectly fine nickname or middle name.
I absolutely love the name [name_u]Scout[/name_u]… I just don’t know if I find it usable as a full name (that’s why I have it as a middle atm.) I know some people use it as a full name, and I think its so cute, but you have to be very brave to use it in my opinion.
I’ve been loving the name [name_u]Scout[/name_u] for a while now and I think it is just too cute. I think it’s spunky and unusual, but not too out there, if you know what I mean. I really do just love this name!
As far as middle names, [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is absolutely perfect! Seriously!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] for some more ideas, I think long and feminine middle names might work well for [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]
It seems more of a boy’s name to me. I think of the dog [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and Scouts. I think it’s better as a middle name or a nickname, not an actual name. The only name I think of that might work is Scholastica, but I don’t think that’s all that wearable these days.
I’ll echo the others that to me [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is a nickname for something bigger, and hard to imagine on an adult. That being said, to me it could be fine in the middle.
I really love [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] together. So perfect. But…I would be scared to use [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as the given name. That doesn’t mean it’s not right for you all though!
For me it’s a nickname for either a name or a love of the outdoors or Scouting. Or my dad’s long-time vehicle (International Harvester made a forerunner of the SUV called the [name_u]Scout[/name_u] back in the '70s).
I don’t know if it’s because I’m in the UK, or because a little girl in my son’s music class has this name, but I think [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is great as a name on its own! It’s sweet and spunky all by itself. It goes really well with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] as well
I’m not a fan of it in general, but I think it would make a cute nickname or middle name. You could really name her anything and call her [name_u]Scout[/name_u] anyway. I have a ton of nicknames that have nothing to do with my actual name. haha.
