So we have been TTC for 7 years. We finally have a shot at getting pregnant so we’ve been talking about names.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite girl name is [name_u]Raven[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husbands favorite boy name is [name_m]Talon[/name_m]. (Not looking for opinions on whether or not you like the names). I am weird about how names fit and wary of being too matchy matchy. To me, I immediately think we have some weird bird obsession, which we don’t. I HATE birds actually so idk how we got here lol. But are they too matchy or do the fit ok together if we were to have one of each at some point?
[name_f]My[/name_f] husbands other favorite is [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m]. He likes the nickname EZ (not from Mayans MC, btw. He mentioned this to me years ago, but we do like that show). Is it too biblical? We are not at all religious and I’m not sure I feel it “goes” well with [name_u]Raven[/name_u].
I think [name_m]Talon[/name_m] and [name_u]Raven[/name_u] are so cool together! I don’t think they’re too matchy-matchy, though there is an obvious theme. I would never assume you had some weird bird obsession if I met two siblings with these names. I’d just get bad@ss vibes tbh.
I know siblings IRL called [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and G.riffin which is also quite bird-like but really works!
Ezekiel is really cool but feels a bit out of place with [name_m]Talon[/name_m] and [name_u]Raven[/name_u]. I do also get Biblical vibes, but that’s possibly just me.

I do think it’s a bit too matchy, but that’s just my opinion.
On the other hand, I love the name [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] and I’m not religious at all. I also love the name [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and I think the two would go together because they both aren’t common but aren’t super uncommon either.

I think [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and [name_m]Talon[/name_m] go very well together. I wouldn’t assume you guys are obsessed with birds or anything.
Unfortunately, I think [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] is both too religious and doesn’t go well with [name_m]Talon[/name_m]. As an atheist, I would never use [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] for the sole reason that it’s way too tied to religion.
I honestly think you could use [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and [name_m]Talon[/name_m]. I don’t see an issue with them at all, it’s not like they’re both bird breeds. If you wanted to use [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and [name_m]Crow[/name_m] (lol) or something, then it’d be weird.
Thank you! I appreciate the nice opinion! I just always see people saying [name_u]Raven[/name_u] reminds them of a trashy, stripper name! I’ve seen so many people on forums trashing names that people have already chosen so I was just trying to skip the negative connotations. I’m glad you like them both!
I’m on the same page with you about [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] for sure. I’m agnostic and my husband doesn’t really identify with anything so it doesn’t feel right. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is Mexican and Salvadorian so it’s a common name in his culture but still just doesn’t click in my opinion. He’d be happiest with [name_m]Talon[/name_m] anyway!

You might get someone saying “[name_u]Raven[/name_u] isn’t my favourite because I don’t personally love bird names” but anyone who says “[name_u]Raven[/name_u] is a trashy stripper name!” will literally be banned. This is a safe and respectful space
