I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Tansy[/name_f]! It’s just a great name to me. WDYT?
I think it’s very cute. Having said that, I think it would be a lovely name for a little one all the way up through 9 or so. It’s hard to imagine on even a teen much less an adult.
I’d like it best as a possible nn for a longer version. Maybe [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f], Konstantina, etc.
I only know an adult [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] and she does not suit it well. What about something like [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f] or [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], nicknamed [name_f]Tansy[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Tansy[/name_f]. It’s one of my favourite new names.
I like it, but I like floral names.
I had a combo of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], which I think has interesting interlocking meanings (“vigilant protector” + “immortal”) but I’m a dork for that sort of thing.
I don’t find it as young-sounding as [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Posy[/name_f]. I do find it more childlike than some botanicals though. It doesn’t have the gravitas of, say, [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
[name_f]Tansy[/name_f] actually started as a diminutive for [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], and for that reason I kind of like it. Otherwise it sounds like a tea.
I think [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] would be cute on a little girl… but I don’t see it on a grown woman. Maybe as a middle name?
I like the name [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], it’s lovely. I love [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] myself.
It could work as a nn for [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] or [name_f]Tanya[/name_f], otherwise it’s a bit childish/cutesy.
I wish I could love [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] - it’s full of nostalgia for me because my great aunt had a dog called [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], I loved her so much as a child (she was literally the sweetest, most perfect pet ever). However, as much as I like it, it’s now just a dog’s name in my mind. I think meeting a [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] would change that, but I’m not entirely sold as of now. However I did hear [name_f]Constance[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] suggested recently which I absolutely adore.
I like [name_f]Pansy[/name_f] a lot too, shame about the derogatory term. I love [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] and [name_f]Posy[/name_f] which both have a similar feel.
Hmmm. I want to like [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] too, but it just feels a bit lacking to me. I guess I see it as a little insubstantial and kind of cutesy and catty at the same time? Like a lot of other posters, I like it better as a nickname. Would be cool as a middle, too.
I think Tansey is perfectly fine. It falls somewhere In style between [name_f]Posy[/name_f] and [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] for me. So a little cute but totally usable.
I really like it.
Also really like [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u].
I really like [name_f]Tansy[/name_f] - she’s been on my long list of niceties for a long time. I wouldn’t use her myself, but I do love seeing her on others. I particularly like her in the middle as she tends to lift and spice up a combo very well.
I love [name_f]Tansy[/name_f], but only as a nickname.
I like it both as a nn and a full name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of using it as a nn for [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f].
