I didn’t even know [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] was a unisex name. I thought it was a girl’s name.
Me too.
(10 characters, happy Nameberry?)
To me it sounds like a boy name because I have never met anyone with his name.
However the only person I have heard of with his name is [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] O’[name_u]Neal[/name_u] who is female.
It doesn’t sound feminine to me at all. I’m fond of it for a boy. I just took a look at the stats, and it’s rising for boys although still more popular for girls.
It brings to mind the obnoxious [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] O’[name_u]Neal[/name_u] ([name_u]Neil[/name_u]?) and Tater Tots!
[name_f]Every[/name_f] [name_u]Tate[/name_u] I’ve ever seen or known has been male. The ‘um’ doesn’t make it any less masculine to me.
That being said, I find it unattractive on either gender.
My niece is named [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] so it is all girl to me.
Boy, in my opinion! I didn’t realize it could be a girl’s name. That said, I don’t think it would be awful on a girl, and I’m not generally a fan of gender neutral names either. (:
Boy as i think of [name_u]Channing[/name_u] [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] (I know its his surname). It doesn’t sound girly and [name_u]Tate[/name_u] is defiantly masculine.
I try not to let celebrities put names out of the running for me. I mean I would never name my kid Kardashian or anything like that… But a normal name that just so happens to be shared by celebs doesn’t bother me. I don’t think just bc they got rich and famous means the rest of us can’t use it!
