Taylor for a boy?

I’m not pregnant, just thinking ahead. If my second daughter was a boy we would have named her [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] after my brother. It was his middle name and he passed away two years ago. If I ever have a boy I’d love to name him [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], but the only thing I’m worried about is it’s so popular on girls. I know it was originally a boys name, and it’s now “unisex” but the majority of people I know with this name are girls. So I’m looking for opinions. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] still works for a boy, or is it becoming one of those names that’s just too feminine?

I think [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is still usable for a boy! Yes, it’s more popular on girls, but it’s not unheard of on boys and on the decline for girls.

I’ve met both girls and guys with this name, it sounds great on either sex. If you love it go for it!

I still consider it a boy’s name…as in [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Lautner.

I think [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] definitely still works for boys. I have a boy cousin named [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], and it has never struck me once as feminine. And yes, it does help that [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Lautner is a connection that is not feminine at all

[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] was one of the most popular names amongst guys at my high school, so I don’t see it as feminine at all. It really depends on what region of the US you’re in. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is the new -er name for girls anyway, so I think you’ll be safe with [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] for your son.

[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] for a boy is so attractive. I say go for it.

It’s a real handsome name for a boy, I love it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] cousin has a nearly 5-year-old son named [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] so I definitely think it works for a boy!

yes I much prefer [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] on a boy.

I agree that it works and I think because of the connection to your brother, you should definitely use it!

I think [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] works well for a boy, it’s on my boys list

I think of it as unisex, I knew plenty of both. There are also both in the celeb world: [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Swift, [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Lautner, more at this link: Famous Taylors | Famous Birthdays

It’s pretty unisex at this point. However, I still think it sounds more masculine, so I would prefer it on a boy.

I love [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] SO much more on a boy! I actually know more boy [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]'s than girl [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]'s.

I’m a [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] so I speak from personal experience. I’ve only known one boy [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] but I know 5 girl [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] s. I know it is a unisex name, but I feel like if you would use it for a boy, I’d put it in the middle spot

Definitely would still work & there’s a lovely meaning to it for you so don’t discount it

I know as many male Taylors as females. It will definitely work. Also, if you or he ever feels he needs a more strongly male name he can go by [name_m]Ty[/name_m]. I would use it if I were you.
