Team Green, need help!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’m looking for some suggestions. I have 4 children and am expecting my 5th in [name_u]July[/name_u]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. We aren’t finding out the gender. We have [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] picked out for a boy, but we just can’t agree on a girl’s name.
Names I love but husband has thrown out are

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ‘Posy’
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] ‘Rosie’ (He says unusable because dd’s middle name is Rose)
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (too close to Elena?)

He doesn’t have any real suggestions. He kind of likes [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] ( his mom is [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and grandmother Elsie) but again, maybe too close to [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
We both like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but our last name is Ready and I’m worried about teasing potential of Loose and Ready :expressionless:

We can’t use [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] because of close relatives.

Someone please help!

Your kids have lovely names!

I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ‘Posy’, [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] for you.

Eloise/Elsie does feel a bit similar to [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] just feels like a different vibe to the sibs. The Rosalie/Rose thing doesn’t bother me too much but I can see why your husband is against it. I do love [name_f]Flora[/name_f] as well but instinctively I’d avoid repeating initials and you already have a [name_u]Finn[/name_u], but if that doesn’t bother you, [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is great!!

If you’re not sold on [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] in the first spot, it sounds like it would be a great middle choice for you?

Other ideas…
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

Suggestions:
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Fauna[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Goldie[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilian[/name_f]
[name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_u]Zoe[/name_u]

With [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], I’ll suggest:

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_u]Celeste[/name_u]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Zoe[/name_u]

Given the already used [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] I’d nix the [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I will say I could see putting [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] as a potential middle. Matches that same vibe as [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and Jospehine for me.

If he agrees to [name_u]Reid[/name_u] I’d suggest [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as a possible fn. matches the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] vibe.

Other fn suggestions:
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_u]Ivy[/name_u]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]

Your children have such beautiful names! I feel that your style is very elegant in a clean, clear and fresh/ crisp English Rose type of way. I’m usually more into French and Italian names, so I don’t know if I’m going to be very helpful, but I try. :rose:

I’m thinking about these:

Juliet
Katherine
Marianne, Mary-Anne
Claudia
Audrey
Louise
Gloria
Diana / Diane
Victoria
Cynthia
Cressida
Alice
Daphne
Eleanor / Elinor
Natalie
Odelia

I definitely like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] best out of all the ones you’ve considered. I don’t personally think “loose & ready” is a term used enough to make it an easy tease. Maybe it is more where you live. But if it’s the one you both love and agree on, I’d say it’s worth this tiny risk.

Other ideas:

[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would go beautifully with your sibset :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]? Nn [name_f]Posie[/name_f] and Rose/Rosie. Its sounds like your style but also old fashion /Grandma vibes.

[name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] all mean light. I would suggest [name_f]Stella[/name_f] instead to keep the light idea without being exact.

josephine “posy” - the nickname posy is adorable. i think it fits well with with your other children!
hazel - i think hazel fits perfectly with the rest of your kiddos!
flora - i absolutely love the name flora, and i think it totally fits the vibe.
rosalie “rosie” - if you love it, go for it. i know a family who named their daughter grace when their older daughter already had the middle name grace. i personally think that’s a little odd, but the difference between rose and rosalie is enough to make it useable. i highly doubt that anyone is going to judge you for using it
sunday - i have to agree that sunday is much more out-there than the rest of your kids. if you love it, use it. eventually it’ll just become who she is, and no one will think “oh, your name doesn’t match your siblings’ names.” sure, they might be a little shocked because it’s an unusual name, but that’s going to happen whether her name is cohesive with her siblings or not. and i’m not saying unusual is bad! i personally love the name sunday.
violet - i think violet is a great, classic name that fits well with your other children.
eloise - i don’t think eloise is too close to elena, if you’re pronouncing elena the way i think you are, which is eh-LAY-nuh. if it’s EL-luh-nuh or something else that has the emphasis on the first syllable, eloise might be too close.
sylvie - i love this option for you! sylvie goes great with your kiddos, and i’m all about honor names.
elsie - see eloise ^^^
lucy - i’m not sure where you’re from or what kind of accent you have, but i’m in the US, and i don’t think anyone would come up with “loose and ready” naturally. if someone is deliberately trying to find something in a name to tease about, they’re going to do it no matter what your name is.

here are some other name suggestions:

abigail
amelia
audrey
caroline
catherine / katherine
chloe
eleanor
emma
harper
isabella
julia
lily
margaret
mia
olivia
penelope
ruby
sophia
victoria
