Teddy ”

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,

What are your thoughts on [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] for a girl?

Or do you prefer it for a boy ([name_m]Theodore[/name_m])?

Thanks,
x

I do slightly prefer it on a boy, because on a boy it feels more vintage whereas on a girl a bit more modern. That said, I think it works on a girl just fine! I prefer it as a nickname to [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]/[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]/[name_f]Theda[/name_f] but it can stand on its own.

I have a friend who has a little girl named [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], I think it’s sweet!! It doesn’t feel any different to me from [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f] in terms of wearability!

I too prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] or her variants, but I believe that [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is usable all by herself. It’s an adorable name, and I think it’s cuter on a girl than a boy.

[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is very cute, and I love it as a nickname for either gender, but for me it’s just too cutesy as a full name, again for either gender

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! I prefer it as a nickname, even though I don’t have a problem with nicknames as full names in general. But [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is just so cute and cuddly that to me it does need a slightly more formal full name (especially for a girl, I don’t love the idea of really “babified” names for girls generally): [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Theda[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f]… maybe even [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] or [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] at a push?
