Is this firmly in the guilty pleasure zone or a quirky middle name choice?
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f] has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. My name combinations are mostly family names with classic names I like and I have been thinking of adding quirkier names in the middle such as [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] to spice up the combinations.
Honestly, it depends what your possible name ideas were. I’ve never been a huge fan of virtue names, myself, but it has a nice rhythm. Have you considered [name_f]Tempest[/name_f]? Similar sound, cooler meaning, plus it has [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] cred.
Oddly enough I don’t like [name_f]Tempest[/name_f] at all. It very similar to [name_f]Temperance[/name_f], but just is not the same.
I love [name_f]Temperance[/name_f]! Honestly, I’d use it as a first name, so I think it’s definitely usable in the middle spot!
I think [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] would be a great way to spice up a more classic sounding name. It’s in the same family as [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] and [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] (both of which I love) but definitely feels “spicier”. [name_f]Love[/name_f] the idea!
I think it makes a fine first name or middle name. I really love it (though mostly because of Bones). Tempi is an adorable nickname.

I would use [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] as a first name so I would definitely use it as a middle!
For me it is a guilty pleasure first but totally usable as a middle name, I love quirky middles.
Then again, there are alot worse first names out there so I really don’t see a problem with using this as a first. It is very modest compared to some names out there.
I agree with @dantea that Bones has exposed this name more to the masses and maybe made it more usable.
I love [name_f]Temperance[/name_f]! To me, it has the same lovely rhythm of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]. It would do well as a first name, and Tempy is adorable! It would wear well all her life.

I love [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] but only as a middle name. I actually love virtue names, but there always seems to be some strange irony surrounding them where the girls with the names end up not fitting them at all (the clutzy Graces, the pardy-hardy Chastitys). Very cute name but I’d keep it in the middle myself.
I like [name_f]Temperance[/name_f] as a middle name for a short first name such as [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], etc. I don’t like it as a first name because I don’t think it has any good nicknames- [name_m]Temp[/name_m] and Tempi make me think of the jobs.
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f] is my quirky middle name guilty pleasure. I wouldn’t be happy putting it as first name but in the middle, I would gladly!
I used to really like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] because of Charmed. I would never use it because it’s a really heavy name, but it hold a place in the cockles of my heart.

I’ve been playing around with combinations and really like it with shorter names like [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
