I personally love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Fraser[/name_m]!
(assuming you’re pronouncing the “s” in [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] kind of like a z, in the Scottish way, not like an “szh”, as in the TV series)
If it helps your partner out at all, the meaning of [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] I’ve heard most commonly is “bee cottage”, which I think is absolutely gorgeous and conjures the most pleasant image I’ve ever heard. Learning this meaning literally changed the name in my mind from unappealing to appealing! Very cottagecore.
Elias [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]- wonderful! I love this one a lot I don’t think [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] sounds at all feminine but it does strike me as quite religious.
Elias [name_u]Julian[/name_u]- another great combo, though I do prefer [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]. [name_u]Julian[/name_u] doesn’t sound either feminine or dated to me! I think [name_u]Julian[/name_u] is woefully underused.
Elias [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]- all of these combos are just darling! [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] is an adorable name. I can’t say I understand the concern with a name meaning, positive or negative, but that’s completely a personal choice and if it’s too off-putting for you and your partner, then it’s your choice whether you use it. I’m afraid I’m not being much help, but I really don’t have much to say on the meanings of names because they’re not a concern for me.
Elias [name_m]Fraser[/name_m]- [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] is a handsome name, but it’s not one I would pick. I definitely prefer your earlier combos. I don’t mind surname-names, but I don’t feel like this works.
I like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] the best, but I think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Julian[/name_u] works best for you.
I’m happy to see this list expanding a bit as I feel last time on one of your posts you seemed between a rock and a hard place. I do think given all your reasonings both pro and con my picks are
Elias [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Fraser[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] Gariel.
while I dont see either [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] or [name_u]Julian[/name_u] as feminine their feale counterparts [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]/Gabrielle and [name_f]Julia[/name_f]/Julianna arent hard to think up so I could see this likely not being best choices as your partner is already thrown off by them.
with [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] and [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] I feel the lack of meaningful meaning is more forgivable on a middle then it would be for a first. Where [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] isnt your particular cup of tea I put it at #2 although hey compromise can be a good thing so either way I think between these two its a win!
Thanks for all your responses. We do actually feel we have familial connections to both [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] and [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]. The boys auntie and uncle are bee keepers and they are one of the main bee keepers in our area where we live ( they live about 30 mins from us). Not too many people are allowed to keep bees due to conflict with other hives. They also live in a very rural cottage! I am also aware [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] can mean ‘little brook’ we also live in the countryside 10 seconds from a brook, a brook literally runs just outside our garden and then continues on through our small village, eventually leading into a river and estuary.
With regards to [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] which we do definitely pronouce as Fray-zer, our surname is Scottish. It is Màckenzie ( from clan Màckenzie) anyone seen outlander lol? Lots of history behind the name. So [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] appealed to us in that sense. As it is another clan surname.
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and [name_u]Julian[/name_u] I really love so much I also loved [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] but my partner doesn’t like feminine sounding names on boys. [name_u]Or[/name_u] what appear to be feminine sounding names to him ( not myself)
Our other boys names have very masculine names I suppose, and he likes boys names to have that very clear masculine streak.
Thanks for everyone’s feedback it’s really helpful.
I think at this rate it is likely to be between Beckett and Fraser for the middle name but I am very much in the Beckett camp at the moment
I 100% agree with everything said here. Couldn’t have said it better myself! So my vote is also for [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u], but you really do have a wonderful list and can’t go wrong. Best of luck deciding!
Aw based on this response [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] seems perfect! What a unique, sweet connection. [name_m]Fraser[/name_m] is lovely too, but [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] just seems like the right fit.
Elias [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] gets my vote too. It has the best flow, two complimentary names and is a very handsome combo that is strong and gentle at the same time.
