What do you think of the name [name_m]Texson[/name_m]? Country singer [name_m]Shane[/name_m] McAnally named his son this. Personally I dislike it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] use [name_m]Texas[/name_m] in my opinion. [name_m]Texson[/name_m] sounds like the name of a gas company
[name_m]Texson[/name_m] sounds like someone wanted a clever way to name their kid Texan, and itās not that clever. I donāt like place names in general, so maybe Iām biased, but it just seems odd. I agree that at this point, you ought to just named the kid [name_m]Texas[/name_m], though I do like the nickname [name_m]Tex[/name_m]. However, outside of the context of the state, I think the look and sound of the name is cool.
I also dislike it. I also get the gas company vibe from the name ā reminds me of Texaco. I kind of like the nickname of [name_m]Tex[/name_m], but only the nickname.
Iāve got to give him credit though, naming a baby [name_m]Texson[/name_m] feels on-brand for a country singer.
Itās like [name_m]Texas[/name_m] and [name_m]Stetson[/name_m] at the same timeā¦not for me ![]()
I agree about the nickname [name_m]Tex[/name_m]. Should have just went with that.
Texan was right there. I mean, I donāt like that either, but stillā¦
think iād like ātexanā more, but i donāt mind it all that much!
Yes, those two names had a baby
Texanne for a girl would be interesting lol
Iām not actually sure how I feel about it tbh, it sounds a lot like calling someone from [name_m]Texas[/name_m] a Texan (which the baby is not) so it is a bit confusing if you focus on that aspect, but on the other hand if itās being used as a name to honor [name_m]Texas[/name_m], I get it, and it does flow as a name, but I just still think it is a bit too close to āTexanā and can see it causing confusion unless itās literally spelled out first. Ex:
āWho is the guy you brought?ā
āMy friend, heās Texsonā
āNo i meant his name not where heās fromā
āNo, heās not a Texan, his name is [name_m]Texson[/name_m] - T E X S O Nā
and idk. I feel like names that will have to be explained on a constant basis just arenāt that great regardless of if they flow, and he will probably go by [name_m]Tex[/name_m], and his friends will probably make his contact name [name_m]Tex[/name_m] Mex
I agree with everyone else, and donāt care for it at all.
I do kind of like it more than the idea of just naming the kid [name_m]Texas[/name_m] or Texan, as Iām not really a fan of place names. [name_m]Texson[/name_m] at least sounds somewhat like the other -son style names (Grayson, [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], etc.), even if itās obviously not a particularly good one. And [name_m]Tex[/name_m] is an okay nickname.
[name_m]Not[/name_m] saying I like the name because itās definitely not great, but maybe itās just because Iām Australian - outside of an American context, it doesnāt seem quite as strange to me. It does sound like āTexan,ā though, and I can imagine it feeling even stranger in [name_f]America[/name_f] where Texas/Texan is such an everyday geographical reference. Iād find it weird if someone named their kid [name_m]Texas[/name_m] while living there. but since heās not from [name_m]Texas[/name_m], maybe that makes it a bit different, like to some that might seem better? [name_m]Like[/name_m], if I met someone named [name_f]Sydney[/name_f] who was from [name_m]Melbourne[/name_m], Iād probably think that was a little strange, whereas [name_m]Sidney[/name_m] feels much more like an established name, and then if it was Sydney/Sidney in [name_f]Sydney[/name_f] that would be extra strange. I know thatās probably an unfair comparison, but itās the first example I could think of that kind of works lol.
His daughtersā name [name_m]Dylan[/name_m] is nice, and I like his other son [name_m]Dash[/name_m] too (I think theyāre twins?), but yeah, [name_m]Texson[/name_m] is not great. And paired with the surname McAnally Baum⦠a bit yikes ![]()
and his friends will probably make his contact name Tex Mex
This is really funny and very likely ![]()
