Thaddeus Gil

What do you think of the name [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Gil[/name]?

Thanks!

I think [name]Thaddeus[/name] is a fine Biblical name. Does the mn [name]Gil[/name] have family significance? [name]Do[/name] you pronounce it like the first part of [name]Gilbert[/name] or the Spanish/French way (jeel)? English speakers may think it was like the fish part (gill). Well, I guess if some parents are naming their sons [name]Finn[/name], [name]Gil[/name] is usable. Hey, [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Finn[/name] sounds good.

I really dislike [name]Thaddeus[/name] and [name]Thad[/name]. I feel like I am going to push my teeth out of my mouth when I say it.

I like [name]Thaddeus[/name] - but [name]Gil[/name] seems too nicknamish and short to stand on it’s own.

I actually really love [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Gil[/name]. The bluntness of [name]Gil[/name] tempers the flair of [name]Thaddeus[/name]. It sounds like a character name by [name]Jules[/name] [name]Verne[/name].

I like it fine, though [name]Gil[/name] doesn’t sound foreshortened somehow.

[name]Thaddeus[/name] is great. I don’t like [name]Gil[/name], but the combo flows well.

[name]Gil[/name] in this case would be after my favorite great uncle, [name]Gilford[/name]. I thought it might be nice to consider for future use. Or I could really put it out there and add [name]Thaddeus[/name] [name]Elmo[/name]. It was his middle.

Thank you, everyone!

It’s delightfully quirky. I actually really, really like it.

I like it. Normally I wouldn’t like [name]Gil[/name] too much, but it does pair up well with [name]Thaddeus[/name], and with the family significance of [name]Gil[/name] it becomes a nice MN. [name]Thaddeus[/name] is a great name.
