Lately I have really been crushing on the name [name]Thayer[/name]! It seems so handsome and sweet. What does everyone think? What do you picture a [name]Thayer[/name] to be like?
Thanks

I really like [name]Thayer[/name], but I also like [name]Sayer[/name] and I’m a bit put off by how [name]Thayer[/name] sounds like [name]Sayer[/name] with a lisp. Honestly, though, if I really think about it I prefer [name]Thayer[/name] to [name]Sayer[/name] and I don’t think that it would be a problem for other people since neither name is particuarly well-known. It’s just a weird nagging thing in the back of my brain.
For some reason, the mental image that’s coming to me for [name]Thayer[/name] right now is of someone with shoulder-length, dark blonde hair who is fairly polished and well-kempt, a bit stand-offish. I have absolutely no idea where that’s coming from. It’s not really a good or a bad association. I do really like the name, though.
I like it! No frills and all boy!
Huh, I kind of like it, but I like [name]Thatcher[/name] more. And when I think of [name]Thatcher[/name] I think of [name]Fletcher[/name], and I like both more than [name]Thayer[/name]. It’s just not my thing, I guess, but I can see its appeal. I also like Grayer which I’m guessing [name]Thayer[/name] would rhyme with? (I’m not quite sure, though, since NB says [name]Thayer[/name]'s a French version of [name]Taylor[/name], in which I’m assuming would be something like tie-yay or tie-yair…) Since it’s so uncommon I don’t think most people would get the French pronunciation right (mainly because I wouldn’t think they would know it was French at all, lol).
It is interesting, though!
I have only heard it said [name]Thay[/name]-er, with the “TH” sound so that is how I would say too. It would rhyme with Grayer, which I like but not as much for some reason.
I really like [name]Thayer[/name]! It’s definitely sounds handsome but also fun. And just the right amount of cool without trying to hard!
