[name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] has been haunting me for over a year now and as much as I love her I don’t think I can pull her off as a first name. I also love how [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] elaborates and makes the old family name Anousha more spunky and cool.
I’ve had [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs on my list for even longer than [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] and there’s also the newby and SO approved [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] and [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] to consider…
Where I’m trying to get to is: which of the names above lend to [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] better and more importantly, which one do you think fits with my kids’ names best?
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], and the million dollar question: am I crazy to love and want to use [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] so much?
I think [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] works just as well as the alternatives you listed. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go it. It’s the name you really love. I think it’s lovely
Thank you @boyandgirl and @saracita for the feedback.
I think that for us [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] is strictly nickname in our family which is why we are discussing and considering all of these [name_f]Anne[/name_f] names for her. But, nothing is yet set in stone.
I think Anouska is very lovely, but i prefer it as a nickname. I particularly like the idea of [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Anoushka[/name_f]’, and i think it fits the best with your childrens names.
I agree with [name_f]Bellerose[/name_f]. [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] works well and fits with your other children’s names -it’s short, but interesting and unique, like your other kids
I feel like [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] makes the most sense, logically speaking, and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] does fit well with your other children’s names, but I slightly prefer [name_f]Anaya[/name_f].
Another option could be [name_f]Annika[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f], though I’m not sure if it’s an option.
The only one listed that I wouldnt use to get to [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] is [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] - it’s just too much of a stretch imo.
I really like [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] as a nickname for one of my favourite names, [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f].
I think any of the names on your list could complement your other children’s names. I like [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs the most, though [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] sounds closest to [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] “[name_f]Anoushka[/name_f]” the best. Personally, I would do [name_f]Anna[/name_f] “Annoushka”, as it feels very 19th century Russian, but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is probably too bland for your taste, and I know you did not ask for suggestions. [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], on the other hand, fits nicely with [name_f]Ziva[/name_f], [name_f]Noor[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f] and [name_u]Lexi[/name_u].
I’m so glad to find someone else who think [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] is strictly nickname! I like it but I don’t think it’s substantial enough to stand alone.
I love [name_f]Anoush[/name_f], without the last syllable. It’s a beautiful name and falls somewhere between [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f].
Of the options you listed, I would go with [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f]. My second favorite option would be the previous suggestion from someone of [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. I think those would both fit well with your other names. Good luck!
I’m on team [name_f]Anna[/name_f], too! All the others seem too forced for me, particularly [name_f]Oriana[/name_f]. [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] seems like a huge stretch to me (although I [name_f]DO[/name_f] love [name_f]Oriana[/name_f] with your other kiddos!) in particular.
I do like [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] or [name_f]Annika[/name_f] next best, though, and think either could work for the nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f], but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] just makes more sense to me. I do agree with the point that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] probably seems too simple, classic, or straightforward compared to [name_f]Noor[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Ziva[/name_f], [name_u]Lexi[/name_u], and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], though. Although, I could easily see [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] as siblings, or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], or even [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Noor[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would definitely make your sibset seem much more classic, but the nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] would fit in brilliantly. If you don’t want to go there, I think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is the next best option, but I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Annika[/name_f], too.
I think [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] nn [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] not only makes the most sense sound-wise but [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] also fits wonderfully with your children’s names; it’s got the same slightly-exotic yet grounded and approachable vibe.
And no, you’re not crazy, I think [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] is a pretty name; I actually knew an Anosuhka once; a friendly girl with [name_u]West[/name_u]/South [name_f]Asian[/name_f] roots.
Hey everyone, stopping by to thank you all for the very helpful feedback on [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] and possible formal names. [name_f]Anais[/name_f] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] are our absolute front runners if we are lucky to have another daughter in the future, so it was great to get some thumbs up on [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] as well.
