[name]Love[/name] [name]Evie[/name]! I’m working very hard on my husband to be able to use it in whatever form he will agree to. I love [name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name]. As long as you start the [name]Evie[/name] nn, people won’t call her [name]Jenny[/name]. I also say [name]Evelyn[/name] as EEv-lin, because that’s how my great grandmother pronounced her name. I think [name]Evie[/name] is good by itself too. [name]Evie[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is on my list.
I like [name]Evanna[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name]. I think [name]Evie[/name] is also wonderful on its own. I’d pick a longer middle name to go with it.
sansa – Thank you for these, I love how unusual they are! My absolute favorite is [name]Evening[/name], although given the rest of my list, it might work better as a middle.
sugarplumfairy – I do like the EV idea, though unfortunately [name]Eleanor[/name] is one of my least favorite names due to a negative association. I love [name]Elowen[/name] though, and shockingly so does my husband! Any other ideas for V names to go with [name]Elowen[/name]? Word names are preferred but not required. From your list, my favorites are Evaluna, Everose, [name]Vivienne[/name], and [name]Evening[/name].
aubreylh – That is a beautiful pronunciation. I agree with you that [name]Eveline[/name] is far more intuitive than Evelien.
ottilie – ooh, I like EEV-lin…that bumps [name]Evelyn[/name] way up on my list
renrose – Thank you! That’s beautiful, such a fresh exotic take on [name]Elizabeth[/name].
jenna – [name]Evan[/name] is a lovely name, but it’s all boy for me. I grew up with a cross-gender name and had a rather terrible experience with it, so I favor feminine names for girls and masculine names for boys. I appreciate the suggestion though!
bonnielyn – I do like the EV idea if I can find the right combo [name]Elisheva[/name] is lovely and exotic. I’m going to try this one out on Hubby.
mimi_surfer – Evandra is beautiful, but my husband doesn’t like it. Something about a D&D character.
yma – Wow, such unique and thorough suggestions! [name]Yvaine[/name] is beautiful, and I love the Arthurian connection with Nyneve! Ivalu’s history is fascinating, but I know she’s going to be too out there for my frustratingly practical husband. Same with Erelieva (I [name]LOVE[/name] the meaning) and Evryali (though she is absolutely swoonworthy)! I’m on the fence about [name]Sunniva[/name]. I want to love her but something just throws me. Annevieve is actually quite charming! Lillevi is also intriguing, as my mother’s middle name is [name]Lillie[/name].
tuitree – [name]Evita[/name] seems like a one-woman name…but I definitely appreciate the suggestion!
maura – You and me both! Thanks for the reassurance, I would be horrified if I went through all this to get the name [name]Evie[/name] and then everyone calls her [name]Jenny[/name]. Ack! [name]Evie[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is gorgeous, by the way.
castles – [name]Evangeline[/name] is my all time favorite, but alas, Hubby disagrees! I’m not as fond of [name]Evie[/name] as a standalone name…she seems unfinished without a longer form, and less compatible with [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name].
I’ve edited the OP to add the current list. Thanks for all of your help!
Okay, I’m throwing my vote in Annevieve [name]Lily[/name]'s basket. It’s gorgeous! And fits in beautifully with future sisters and brothers. I love that it’s long, [name]Solomon[/name] doesn’t stand out as much anymore. You’ve got a winner, sweets, no need to look any further!
I dont thin [name]Eviana[/name] has been mentioned! I think its so adorable!
Definitely [name]Genevieve[/name]. Although I am very biased; it is my favorite name.
[name]Yvaine[/name] and [name]Elowen[/name] [name]Violet[/name] are my other favorites.
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Violet[/name] sounds like a dancing fairy, wearing an iridescent purple dress and sparkling in moonlight. Great imagery from that name.
Evanora perhaps? I really like Annevieve and Elishiva from your list too.
Annevieve [name]Lily[/name] is really beautiful! I like it a lot! As far as E.V. names, I think [name]Elowen[/name] is gorgeous! What about:
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Vera[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Vita[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Victoire[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Viveca[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Vida[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name] [name]Viola[/name]
I love the EV idea. It ties the middle name in that is otherwise often neglected. I also adore [name]Elowen[/name] or even [name]Eloise[/name].
Middle names
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Verity[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Velvet[/name]
My favourite of the Ev- names is [name]Eva[/name]. A little more flair than [name]Eve[/name] but still simple and classy at the same time.
I’m not sure if [name]Evanna[/name] has been mentioned yet - it’s feminine without being over the top. I’m not 100% on the pronunciation - I’ve heard it as both [name]Eve[/name]-anna and Ev-anna, but I think if you want nn [name]Evie[/name] then the former would probably be the way to go.
I love love love Annevieve [name]Lily[/name] (three loves for emphasis there) and think that if an intuitive middle springs to mind, then that’s always a good sign, especially if it honours your mother (with middle name [name]Lillie[/name]) Good luck - your names are so magical!
