The Enchating Eccentrics: Ladies

[name_f]Aquilina[/name_f] - i think it’s too much, and too hard to spell
Artemida/[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - I always confuse artemis with [name_m]Aramis[/name_m], so I always think it’s a boys name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like Artemida, but [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is okay.
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] - too heavy and old
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - sounds like an old italian name or something. thumbs down.
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - Awesome!
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f] - and how is this pronounced??
Endelienta - I won’t even try to say this.
Gwenonwy - Okay so I can figure out how its pronounced, but I think it’s too hard to live with [name_m]IRL[/name_m]
Gwenfair - prefer this, its easier
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f] - But this is my fav of your [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]- names!
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - never liked it.
Leto - the -o ending makes it sound masculine, but if that doesn’t bother you then fine…
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f] - I kinda like this one
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f] - like this one too
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f]/[name_f]Melisande[/name_f] - interesting, not sure how I feel about it
Melpomene/[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] - Melpomene is weird. too weird. [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] could work
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]/[name_f]Athena[/name_f] - they are both fine. And I love the HP association with [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f] - I like this a lot actually
[name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] - look up the saint with the same name. might not be a great association
Proserpina - err…what?
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] - yeah sure.
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] - why not
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - I find it hideous, but I guess it would work!
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] - interesting
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] - hmm… not sure how i feel about this
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] - not for me, but it’s fine for others

I’d keep:
[name_f]Electra[/name_f], [name_f]Gwenore[/name_f], [name_f]Leocadia[/name_f], [name_f]Leontine[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Nemea[/name_f] and perhaps [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]

Wow, fantastic names!

I really love [name_f]Constance[/name_f] with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. I wouldn’t worry about the double “Co” at all, as otherwise, the sounds are completely different. They’re both very pretty and feminine, yet solid and unyielding. A great match.

[name_f]Constance[/name_f] Gwenfair [name_f]Snow[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Gwenore[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] Rosemint

A bunch of lovely names! It’s hard to decide but I will try to make a top ten.
Gwenonwy
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonine[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]

[name_f]Aquilina[/name_f]
Artemida/[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f]
Endelienta
Gwenonwy
Gwenfair
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
Leto
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
[name_f]Medea[/name_f]
Melpomene/[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]/[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f]
[name_f]Pelagia[/name_f]
Proserpina
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
Rosemint
[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Wisteria[/name_f]
BF’s lovelies:
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] (I actually love this one, but not everyone gets the pronunciation)
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] (Again, lovely though I can’t find a nickname I like)
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] (This one bothers me. I like the sound but boyfriend had actually picked this one because of his star crush [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m]) !
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] (I can’t see myself with daughter named [name_f]Solveig[/name_f], though it used to be one of my crushes)
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] (I love this one and her story too)

So basically I want you to help me shorten the list. Now I counted 30 names(without slashed ones) and I would ideally want to have 10-14 left. Comment, make tops or name your favorites, whatever you want. I am not starting middle names yet so I don’t want combos. I don’t really care for sibsets and we have decided to go wilder that time but if you think something is horrid, awful with sister [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], let me know.
And if some of you ladies have awesome magical suggestions, I would appreciate them. Nothing is too crazy or out-there for us, but we wouldn’t like overly complicated spellings or hideous namesakes.[/QUOTE]

Hmm…
I love [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] that’s beautiful!! To follow such a name is going to take effort.

So for cutting down the list sake, do you want to have another ‘C’ name this could potentially limit your future naming options to just the letter ‘C’, I really do think it’s odd when sibling sets are combinations like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] & [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] just feels so outcast from the rest of the sibling combinations the ‘A’ looks strange among a sea of the letter ‘C’. Thus I would rule out [name_f]Constance[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], and [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f].

From the list I find [name_f]Aquilina[/name_f], [name_f]Leontine[/name_f], [name_f]Eluned[/name_f], Naema, Proserpina, and [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f] strange and would look really odd next to [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. I think a sister name for [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] needs to be romantic and enchanting.

I absolutely love [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], and [name_f]Viola[/name_f]. From your bf lovelies I love [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f] (don’t use though the [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] thing is strange LOL totally get it but naming your daughter after the boyfriend’s celeb crush…?!), and oh [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] as well.

Oh, again replies! Thank you ladies and keep it up!
@tori101: thanks! As I said, I am totally find with C-s and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]'s association IS a bothering thing for me.

My top ten

[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Melisande[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f]

You can absolutely call me [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. It’s a good way to test out all the [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]- names on your list

Revised top ten:
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]/[name_f]Athena[/name_f] (but mostly [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]. [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] and [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] are perfection!)
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
Artemida/[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f]
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - Goes really well with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f].

And then one of the [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] options for #11. I rather like my name.

And I’d still eliminate [name_f]Constance[/name_f]. It’s a sound thing, for me. It has all the clunkiness of [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], but none of the beauty.

[name_f]Constance[/name_f] is the only one I really like, and I do think it goes very well with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f].

More fun and stuff! Hooray, you are wonderful!
@bellerose: thanks, and is [name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] old-ladish in Greece? I like her sound and meaning!
@Otter: gorgeous top, thank you dear.
@sorceress: thanks for loves, nice.
@mikayla: thanks for going through the list, helpful enough to cut down.
@cosmonaut: yay, I am glad you like the list! And yes, I believe to C-s are fine together.
@[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]: thanks!
@tori: thank you, I am joyful you like [name_u]Nelly[/name_u]'s name and comments are amazing.
@[name_f]Dina[/name_f]: thank you!
@[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]: and then you feel free to call me [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]/[name_f]Vicky[/name_f]/Vics. I love your name, by the way and thanks for top.
@mrsdeas: thanks!
UPDATED LIST
[name_f]Aquilina[/name_f]
Artemida/[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f]
Gwenonwy
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f]
Melpomene/[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]/[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f]
[name_f]Pelagia[/name_f]
Proserpina
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f]
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]

So we crossed off Endelienta, Gwenfair, [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] and moved Leto to the middles. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] keeps going off and on again because we can’t actually decide if it’s too close or not.
Let’s play again, feel free to range, comment and top soever. Thank you dears!

[name_f]Aquilina[/name_f] - I’m putting this in the no column. It’s a beautiful name but I don’t like it with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f].
Artemida/[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] are smashing together. [name_m]Just[/name_m] lovely.
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] - I swoon over this for you. [name_m]Reading[/name_m] it on your list makes me want to add it back to my own… [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f], I think it works. They’re beginnings are different; kon and kawr. And the rest is completely different.
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - Like this for your. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] and [name_f]Cressie[/name_f]. Cutie.
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] stately enough. I’d like it even more if you used the version with the k. [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elektra[/name_f] would be amazing.
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] the name, don’t love it with miss [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. [name_f]Eluned[/name_f] would make a fantastic middle.
Gwenonwy - I know you love it. Gwenonwy is very very cute, but I think I like the one below better.
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f] - A big yes from me. [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwenore[/name_f] are beautiful together. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] darling.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - Yes, I love this for you too. Only thing… is it too perfect? [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] feel like they were meant to be sisters.
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f]! Amazing. Amazing with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], just utter gorgeousness.
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f] - Okay, I should’ve read the list before I started commenting. [name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]'s comment goes here. THIS is [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]'s sister. I think.
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] in the middle. I don’t like [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Melusine[/name_f] together.
Melpomene/[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] - C’mon pick one. Pick [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]! [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] are precious. [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] sounds like a curly little sister. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] and [name_m]POM[/name_m].
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]/[name_f]Athena[/name_f] - [name_f]Minerva[/name_f]. Stick with the Romans. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] are sheer perfection. In a good way.
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f] - Eh, I think of night clubs.
[name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] - Haunting, but I would stick it in the middle. Simply because you’ve got better ones.
Proserpina - [name_f]Love[/name_f], and this is a gorgeous name with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u] and [name_f]Pia[/name_f]. Swoon swoon.
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f], and I think it’s beautiful with Nells.
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] - Yeah, I like it, but wouldn’t be my top pick.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - As a middle it would be fantastic. [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] - Sweet! [name_f]Love[/name_f] this with [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. It also works in the middle.
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] - In the middle, I don’t like it as a first name.
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this so much!!! I’m not sure it will make my top though as there are other choices I’m more excited about with darling little [name_u]Nelly[/name_u].

My favourites:
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
Proserpina
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elektra[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]

Thank you, [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], I love you. Without your help I would probably have much more names and not so good ones(who suggested [name_f]Leocadia[/name_f] and [name_f]Constance[/name_f], reminded me of [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]?). Thanks thanks thanks!
I love seeing your positive comments about them all and the top! I simply couldn’t cut it down shorter and better. Then there will be a problem with picking one but I have twins running in my family so there is a small chance I may end with two or(!) three babes ;). And two middles is a relief.

My favorites for you are(in the order of preference):
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
Artemida
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Electra[/name_f]
Honorable mention: [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] and [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f].

Such breathtaking names! It was difficult, but here’s my top 10.

Top 10, in semi-ranked order:
[ol][/ol]

Honorable mention: Cressida, Pomeline, and Viola

[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and…

[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - Definately [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]. It’s so beautiful and special.

[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]

[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Iselin[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f]

Middles:
[name_f]Briallen[/name_f]
[name_f]Iselin[/name_f]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]

Alright, I’ve made you a Top 8. In order of preference next to [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] (which is why the C’s are that the bottom, I’m not big on repeating initials, but they are still great names). I’m kinda dying to see your final Top 10 so you can make a middle name post! Haha, these are amazing. =]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]

Yep, I have met way too many women 40 + yrs old with the name [name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] and most of them ruined the name completely to me. But I think it could work on USA and I liked it even better as a middle

And we’ve made it to 4 pages! Thank you ladies, you are wonderful!
@[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]: thanks, neat top!
@[name_f]Reverie[/name_f]: thank you.
@calista: thanks, I see you can’t wait to do middles, can you?
@[name_f]Amy[/name_f]: thank you so much, great top and I am so happy somebody is waiting for my threads, yay!
@bellerose: OK, you’ve made it clear for me, as I only know one [name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] in her 20-s. Thanks, beauty!

I didnt mean to offend you . Sorry if i did

@bellerose: no, you didn’t, don’t worry. So sweet of you to do this!

[name_f]Aquilina[/name_f] - like a lot!
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] - love!
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - love
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] - very pretty
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Eluned[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Gwenore[/name_f]/Gwenonwy - I can’t decide if I like these or not. I adore the name [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], but these are just unfamiliar to me though their sounds are beautiful
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f] - not bad
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] - like a lit
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] - okay, I prefer [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] though
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - love! beautiful

[name_f]Constance[/name_f] - I don’t truly dislike this one, it just feels so stuffy. The meaning is, of course, lovely, but it feels like naming a kid Constable or Consonant
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] - this feels too much like a superhero name to me. Like her husbands name should be Frozone.
[name_f]Leocadia[/name_f]/[name_f]Leontine[/name_f] - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is so masculine to me that it’s hard to see these as girls names
Melpomene - completely unfamiliar, but I’m just not fond of the sound combination. There are many more attractive [name_u]Mel[/name_u] names and the “mean” ending throws me off
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] - [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] just makes me think of a pommel on a saddle or the pommel horse in gymnastics
[name_f]Nemea[/name_f] - I much prefer [name_f]Medea[/name_f] to [name_f]Nemea[/name_f], it’s just so much more attractive to me. Bit too [name_m]Nemo[/name_m] I guess
[name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] - I’ve never been able to love this one. All I see is [name_m]Otto[/name_m]/Auto line–aka traffic (a line of cars)
[name_f]Pelagia[/name_f] - this reminds me too much of paraplegia
Proserpina - just not attractive to me, feels very literal. Liking naming a child Wealthina.
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] - in my head it’s a combo of soporific and a soft freeze and sophomore. [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] like Freshmettia.
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] - I don’t truly hate this one, but I see Gattica (movie title) and Galatia (ancient land area)
