We are less than two weeks away from the arrival of our beautiful little girl, a sister for [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]India[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. We have had a boys name sorted from about week 11 of Bub #1, but have now been blessed with three little ladies.
Mrs_E and I still haven’t settled on names for Bub #3, but like the following:
We had planned to use the name [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] for Bub#2 until a last minute Google search brought up some rather “dubious” results (think porn srar!) so struck a line through that!
For frame of reference, we want to avoid names starting with either “N” and "S"and obviously nothing too similar to our two older girls. Mrs_E not a great fan of unisex or season names (eg [name_f]Summer[/name_f]) while I want to avoid anything too “plain” (sorry, no [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]! )…I like the Geographic type names but more likely to be a middle name…
Any comments, suggestions and thoughts most welcome!
With [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f], my fave is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Second fave is [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
[name_f]Laura[/name_f] is too close for [name_f]Elena[/name_f] for my likes, and I prefer [name_u]Havana[/name_u], [name_u]Persia[/name_u] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] as middles. [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] feels mismatched next to [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f], and [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] seems dated.
You’re not the first male on here by far (I’m one too)! From your list my favorites are Laura and Amelia (in fact I had Laura Amelia on my combos list for awhile). IMO Laura is a classic that is underused for the current generation.
Thanks bellerose, we are slowly narrowing down the options!
Re: [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]…one of the reasons I like that name is that it doesn’t end with an “a” which is a bit funny because most of the other names that we do like end with an “a”
While the others, not so much. They’re not bad names at all, they just seem to give off a different vibe than the rest (in my eyes).
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] doesn’t seem feminine enough given the names of your older two girls. And [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] seems to be closer to the [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] camp than [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. I also think [name_u]Havana[/name_u] would be a good middle, but not a great match as a first. Actually, that could be applied to the others as well.
I won’t go into detail on every name, but you get it. For combos, I like (keep in mind, I’m not so good at 3-name combos):
I don’t have a ton of time right now, so I can’t make a whole list of name suggestions, but I’m hoping I can come back and do it later. =] I also want to work [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] in to a combo (as a middle)!
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: [name_m]Just[/name_m] realized [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] are very rhymey, so I took it off the list for firsts that I think would go well.
My favorite name from your list is [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]! I’m also going to second the suggestion of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]. I think that combo has a really nice flow to it.
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f], [name_u]Persia[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] from your list feel particularly compatible with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
From your list I would go with [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. It’s femine and strong just like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. My 2nd choice would be [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] (even better spelled [name_u]Vivian[/name_u])
[name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Cate[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - they’re on my plain list
[name_u]Havana[/name_u], [name_u]Persia[/name_u], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], Denea - would make nice 2nd or 3rd names
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f] - too vintage clunky next to her would be sisters.
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] - very unisex missing that girl vibe [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] definately have.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f] / [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Denise[/name_f]
[name_f]Sonya[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
My favorites in general and with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] & [name_f]Elena[/name_f] are [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
While I love [name_f]Julia[/name_f], I would eliminate it because of the same starting sound as [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. [name_f]Keira[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] are my favorites for you from your list. Instead of [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], have you thought of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]? [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] work well as a sibset.
Some other possibilities:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], and
You and your wife already have a lot of great names, but I’ll suggest some names I think would go well with [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]* (does that kind of count as a place name?)
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]*
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]*
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]*
[name_u]London[/name_u]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Parisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]*
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
Some combos I think are cute (please mix and match all you want haha):
*these names are too matchy with either [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] or [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and would be best in one of the middle spots
**Initials are [name_u]VAL[/name_u], same as my other previously suggested combo of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], so I was thinking [name_f]Valley[/name_f] would be a cute nickname, if you guys are into that. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought =}
Anyways, hope this wasn’t too long and that it helps at all! Sorry if I missed some names in the combos. Again, please mix and match to your hearts content =D
From your list I love the name [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]! I would use that name except my surname also starts with a V and is rather long so it doesn’t flow. The names you listed are all names I like (I’m also drawn to a-endings) so I’ll also recommend my daughters’ names: [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Jenica[/name_f]. Both feminine and have the a-ending, though I think [name_f]Jenica[/name_f] might be too similar to [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] would definitely work with both [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and it sounds like a sibset to me!
[name_f]Sister[/name_f] for:-
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]India[/name_f] & [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m].
Since I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and think it is similar in style to [name_f]Cate[/name_f], I am hesitant to say
[name_f]Cate[/name_f] - [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Cate[/name_f].
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]/en is my alternate choice -really lovely- [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] & [name_f]Laura[/name_f]/en
[name_f]Keira[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] - the ‘enne’ ending I like for the sibset.
[name_f]Kirrily[/name_f], a name I love, may be ‘l’ heavy with [name_f]Elena[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], lovely names, but sound close to [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Catriona[/name_f], said as non-celtic ([name_u]Kay[/name_u]-tri-ohna) has the ‘na’ end of [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. (A beautiful name but often similar sounds appeal when you have something you love)
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] - same start sound as [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].
[name_u]Havana[/name_u], [name_f]Denae[/name_f], [name_u]Persia[/name_u] & [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] would be middles only.
1.[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] or [name_f]Cate[/name_f]
2. [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] & [name_f]Catriona[/name_f].
I think you have very lovely names, and this is about a sibset best wishes.
We like the matching “vvv” sound with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] with a little geographical touch on the end ([name_f]Vienna[/name_f] just pipped [name_u]Havana[/name_u])
Now to do a final Google search to make sure the “coast is clear” and await the safe arrival of our bundle of joy (and poo!)
