I’m actually rather pleased with it. I knew that the possibility he would warm up to some of my favorites ([name]Felicity[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], etc.) was a long shot, but I love the names he picked.
Here’s my question (as well as loving to know your thoughts on the above.) Does the fact that we already have an [name]Annabel[/name] take [name]Georgiana[/name] off the table? [name]Annabel[/name]'s occasional nickname is [name]Bell[/name]. She absolutely refuses to be called [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Annie[/name]. Most of the time, she is the full [name]Annabel[/name]. Were we to have a [name]Georgiana[/name], we would go with either [name]Georgie[/name] or [name]Ginny[/name], most likely the latter, for her nickname. [name]Georgiana[/name] was the husband’s great grandmother, and I love the connection to Pride and Prejudice. All of the names hold personal significance, though. Anyway, what do you think?
His picks are all great. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name], [name]Ginny[/name]. I may be missing something but I see no reason not to use it. The “an” is not matchy at all in my opinion.
[name]Love[/name] all of his picks! He has great taste I think [name]Georgiana[/name] with [name]Annabelle[/name] is perfect!! I do not see any issues with it all! Out if his choices my favorite is [name]Virginia[/name]! I just adore that name!!
Everyone should have a husband with such good taste! With the frilly and feminine [name]Annabel[/name], I like [name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name] with [name]Tabitha[/name] coming in a distant third place. I would leave the more traditional and common choices of [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] for middle names.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name] and it goes very well with [name]Annabel[/name]. If you’re worried about having “anna” in both names, then [name]Virginia[/name] would be my next choice.
I love his choices! I think [name]Georgiana[/name] is lovely, and while the [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Ana[/name] thing is a bit repetitive, I do love it with [name]Annabel[/name]. Besides, if you can ensure that both won’t get the nn [name]Annie[/name]/[name]Anna[/name] (which doesn’t seem that likely, since [name]Annabel[/name] refuses to go by it!), I think you’ll be fine.
[name]Arianne[/name], [name]Liliana[/name], and [name]Hannah[/name] are both on my short list, and I have absolutely no problem using two of them together. [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Hannah[/name] might be a bit similar (especially since I’d lean toward using the nns [name]Ari[/name] and [name]Annie[/name]), but I find [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name] even less similar than [name]Arianne[/name] and [name]Liliana[/name], as the Annas are on the opposite ends of the names.
I think I actually prefer [name]Katherine[/name], though–I adore it, and I love the nn [name]Kit[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]! I think [name]Caleb[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], and [name]Katherine[/name] would be so perfect together. Then again, I really love [name]Georgiana[/name]! I think either would be quite perfect.
[name]Georgiana[/name] - Close, but not unusable. I think I would use it as a middle name though.
[name]Virginia[/name] - I have just never liked it, and its the only name on this list I don’t like.
[name]Katherine[/name] - I love the name. And I love a bunch of the nicknames. And this is the most common spelling - but I am going to be the person who quibbles about it. [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Katharine[/name] would both be more appealing to me.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - I love [name]Elizabeth[/name], but its very popular. Not a thing wrong with it otherwise though.
[name]Tabitha[/name] - I love [name]Tabitha[/name].
[name]Virginia[/name] is my number one choice out of the list (good job husband for having very good taste)
I also adore [name]Katherine[/name] especially with the nn [name]Kitty[/name]
I prefer [name]Georgina[/name] myself but if [name]Georgiana[/name] is a family name then that’s great too.
[name]Man[/name], do I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Georgiana[/name]!! It’s beautiful. I don’t quite see what the issue would be in using it with [name]Annabel[/name]. I think they sound lovely with eachother. [name]Ginny[/name] is a great nn. I would be open to calling her [name]George[/name] myself, but I know that’s not everyone’s style.
I like [name]Georgiana[/name]-- why not pronounce it [name]George[/name]-ina? No repetitive [name]Anna[/name] sound, and it’s the authentic Pride & Prejudice way. It would certainly still honor your husband’s great-grandmother even if the pronunciation were slightly different.
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name] - I would be comfortable with the repeating ana [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Virginia[/name] - Very sweet could also use [name]Bell[/name] and [name]Ginny[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] - I love love love this combo. [name]Bell[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name]/[name]Kit[/name] is to die for!
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] - Very nice classic vibe
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name] - Not a fan this combo falls a little flat for me
It’s almost always jawr-jee-AN-uh or jawr-[name]JAN[/name]-uh here, I’m afraid. And yes, two of my favorite authors! I always wonder if [name]Virginia[/name] would be too much [name]Poe[/name] influence with [name]Annabel[/name], as many believe that [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name] was inspired by his late wife, [name]Virginia[/name]. Then I remind myself that not everyone is as interested in such things.
hmm, I like [name]Georgiana[/name], but with a sister [name]Annabel[/name] I might be more inclined to pick [name]Georgia[/name] to honour a [name]Georgiana[/name].
I think [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name] are both great, too!
Wow, these names are gorgeous! Beautiful and feminine, a bit frilly, but by no means lightweights. I love the literary associations too. I’m in love with [name]Georgiana[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] (as you can tell from my signature) and [name]Virginia[/name]. [name]Katherine[/name] is lovely also. Not too keen on [name]Tabitha[/name] though; it just reminds me of a tabby cat. They all go well with [name]Annabel[/name], which is also great by the way.
