the most commonly used middle names in your family?

In my family, it’s ALWAYS ___ [name]Marie[/name] for a girl and ___ [name]Anthony[/name] for a boy.

it’s like we have no other options! lol.

what about you? also, it isn’t just my family, it’s pretty much the same with [name]EVERY[/name] Hispanic and Italian American family I know.

[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Coleman[/name]
and [name]MacDonald[/name]

Hispanic and Italian family here :] We are all: ___ [name]Nicole[/name], ___ [name]Marie[/name], ___ [name]Angel[/name], ____ [name]Anthony[/name]. I’m the only girl that got the middle name [name]Angel[/name] + a second middle that was non of the above ([name]Ryan[/name]), although there are plenty of Angelas, Angelinas, Angelicas, etc.

In our family, the most common mn for girls is [name]Catherine[/name]. It is a nice tradition!

On my mother’s side of the family [name]Charlene[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] for girls and [name]Charles[/name] for boys. They’ve been used for both first and middle names for a numebr of generations. Not sure why or how it started but we did not continue this for our children.

I would have to say [name]Mary[/name]/[name]Merry[/name]/[name]Marie[/name] is most common a middle name among my cousins. My maternal grandmother’s name is [name]Maryanne[/name], my oldest sister’s name is [name]Merry[/name], and my younger sister and my paternal cousins have the middle name [name]Marie[/name] after my paternal grandmother’s name being ____ [name]Marie[/name]. The men in my family usually have [name]Theodore[/name] as a common middle name that’s been carried down by my father’s side of the family. But I am [name]Anna[/name] [name]Grace[/name], so those names skipped me.

There are seven guys in my family with the middle name [name]Madison[/name]; I’m the only girl. I have four cousins with the middle name [name]Jacob[/name]/[name]Jakob[/name].

It has stopped now, but there used to be a tradtion on my mum’s side where everyone (boy or girl) would be given the middle name [name]Hunter[/name], I have no idea why!

~[name]Elena[/name]

___[name]Aine[/name] (accent over the A and pronounced Awnye)
___[name]Brighid[/name] (pronounced Brijid) (spawns nn [name]Bridie[/name])
___ [name]Eithne[/name] (pronounced ay-he-ne, this is my middle name)

Boys in my family tend to get their father’s or grandfather’s first names as their middle names so it is always flowing and changing!

Not necessarily the middle name, but on my dad’s side of the family, every single female has [name]Anne[/name] in her name.

My paternal grandmother-- [name]Martha[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
My dad’s sister-- [name]Martha[/name] [name]Anne[/name] (she goes by [name]Anne[/name])
My dad’s sister’s-in-law-- [name]Phyllis[/name] [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Anne[/name] (called [name]Annie[/name])
My cousins-- [name]Kelley[/name] [name]Anne[/name] & [name]Suzanne[/name]
Me-- [name]Marianne[/name] (I’m named after both grandmother’s, not my aunt [name]Mary[/name] [name]Anne[/name]. Honestly, I’m not even sure my parents realized her name was [name]Mary[/name] [name]Anne[/name] because only her family calls her that, she’s always been [name]Annie[/name] to us.)

And my mom is [name]Susan[/name], which is close enough to having [name]Anne[/name].

It wasn’t planned that my cousins and I would all have [name]Anne[/name], but it’s fun that it happened.

That being said, [name]Anne[/name] will not be passed on to my daughter(s).

Female middle names most popular in my area are [name]Ann[/name]/[name]Anne[/name], [name]Lynn[/name], and [name]Marie[/name]. My middle name is [name]Leigh[/name].

[name]Male[/name] middle names most popular in my area are [name]Michael[/name] and [name]James[/name]. My brother’s middle name is [name]Clay[/name].

[name]Anton[/name]! for boys

Our family mn is [name]Ann/name.
The “linker” names as I call them that I hear very often are [name]Ann[/name], [name]Lynn[/name] and [name]Marie[/name]. But this might be generational too.

My family is Italian too! My sister and two (female) cousins have the middle name [name]Marie[/name]. My other sister and one (female) cousin have the middle name [name]Nicole[/name]. I have the middle name [name]Danielle[/name] and my other female cousin has the middle name [name]Rose[/name]. My brother and (male) cousin have the middle name [name]Christopher[/name], another (male) cousin has the middle names [name]Allen[/name] and [name]David[/name], and my last male cousin has the middle name [name]Dillon[/name]. That is just my father’s side!

On my mother’s side, a lot of the females have the middle name [name]Rose[/name]. My mom doesn’t like the name, and ended the tradition with her daughters. [name]Little[/name] does she know that when I have a daughter, I’ll either make her middle name [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Christine[/name] (my mother’s name). I love my mother, and I want my child to have the special connection with her.

[name]Martin[/name]! so far it’s been used for 5 generations.

[name]Marie[/name] and [name]Ann[/name]/[name]Anne[/name]/[name]Anna[/name] are used for almost every girl in my family - on both sides!

For the girls, the #1 is [name]Ann[/name]—but [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are both in frequent use for middles on one side of my family as well.

There isn’t really a predominant male middle on either side of my family, though various family names are most often used in that spot.

I looked back into my family history and we don’t really share many names. Only my grandfathers share a name, most of my gf where the first son, so they shared the name same as their father. But other than that they named their childern popular for the time that they where born. Also I don’t think it is imporant ,but, oh well my family is [name]German[/name] with a little bit of Irish.

There are 5 boys, and 4 had at least one son, and each of the 4 passed on their full name to their eldest son. There’s currently an [name]Alfred[/name] [name]James[/name] V.

Us:
[name]Sidney[/name] ([name]Jr[/name].) & [name]Jane[/name]: [name]Jane[/name], [name]Sidney[/name] (III)

(So we like family names).
They aren’t all the same; feels like there’s lots of options, and most are sometimes first names too; Dh’s middle name ([name]Sidney[/name]) was his grandmother’s brother’s name. I like family names and also want to pass on [name]May[/name] and [name]Rose[/name].

The most common mns on my mums side are;
Girls; [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] (my name)
Boys; don’t really have a common mn but the most common name is [name]David[/name]

My dad’s side is a lot smaller so there isn’t a common mn
