What do you all think about the name [name_m]Art[/name_m] to honor [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]? Does it sound unfinished or is it a strong name in itself? If anyone has any similar ideas or ways to honor [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] please share! Any thoughts appreciated! X
I think it works! [name_u]Artie[/name_u] is a really sweet nickname too.
I love connecting the meanings of names. Since [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] means bear, you could use:
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u]
[name_m]Bjorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Bruin[/name_m]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]
If you wanted to go even more creatively, you could use the Arthurian legend theme:
[name_u]Constantine[/name_u] (Arthur’s successor)
[name_m]Gareth[/name_m]
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u] (teacher/scribe for Merlin)
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Bruin[/name_m] (double points here!)
[name_m]Hector[/name_m]
I adore [name_m]Art[/name_m]. It’s a simple, evocative Irish mythology name and I like the [name_m]Art[/name_m] Garfunkel connection too. Definitely works to honour an [name_u]Arthur[/name_u].
I also like [name_m]Artan[/name_m], [name_m]Artair[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m] and [name_m]Bear[/name_m] as [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] honours — some more obvious than others
I think [name_m]Art[/name_m] works well if you don’t want the full [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. I think it can go so many ways for style, all the Arts I’ve known are so different from each other, but it still suits them all! Nn [name_u]Artie[/name_u] is so cute too.
[name_m]Art[/name_m] is an awesome name. I actually know someone who just used it for her son.
[name_m]Art[/name_m] feels cool and artsy and cerebral, maybe because of the cartoonist, [name_m]Art[/name_m] Spiegelman. It also has a retro vibe to me: it makes me think of a man in the 1950s or 60s, like I could very much see it on a Mad Men character.
I like it a lot
I love it! Really unique. And I can’t get enough of the nickname “Artie”
I’d probably go with [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] nn [name_m]Art[/name_m] honestly but [name_m]Art[/name_m] is just ok on its own. [name_m]Bjorn[/name_m] has the same meaning as [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. [name_u]Archer[/name_u] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m] could also work.
[name_m]Art[/name_m] is charming and cool!!
