[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Bryn[/name] is a bad girl name, or just a plain ugly name, or what?
I think [name]Bryn[/name] is pretty, and not at all awful.

Best wishes to you!
I know I’m probably in the minority, but personally, (I know this is a cultural thing as a [name]Brit[/name]) I just cannot understand that [name]Bryn[/name] is a girls name in the US. It 100% boy here and actually quite crusty. It’s the equivalent of naming your daughter [name]Albert[/name] or [name]Rupert[/name] for me. Okay, so it rhymes with [name]Lynn[/name], but it also rhymes with [name]Finn[/name] and I wouldn’t give that to a girl either.
As well as having a great uncle [name]Brynmor[/name] “[name]Bryn[/name]”, here are ge other mental images I have of Bryns:

I guess that’s why I have a hard time with it on a girl. Sorry
I’m British too, and to me [name]Bryn[/name] is definitely a boy’s name. Personally I really like it: [name]Brynmor[/name], or [name]Bryn[/name] for short.
I really like it…either on its own or as a nn for [name]Brynna[/name] or [name]Bronwyn[/name].
I knew a girl named [name]Brynn[/name]. Awful girl, adorable name. I love it. I actually have seen it spelled [name]Bryn[/name], [name]Brynn[/name], [name]Bren[/name], [name]Brenn[/name], [name]Brin[/name], [name]Brinn[/name], etc. I think I like the [name]Bren[/name] spelling best!
The name [name]Bryn/name is lovely, fresh and modern. It is 100% girl to me, and a bit spunky/preppy. I think this name paired with a flowing, feminine middle name would be perfection.
I think [name]Bryn[/name] is pretty ([name]Brynna[/name] too). My daughter’s name is [name]Brenna[/name] which very similar so I could just be bias!
[name]Bryn[/name] feels no-nonsense and strong to me. [name]Love[/name] [name]Brenna[/name] and [name]Bridget[/name]!
I am from the UK too and this a Welsh boy’s name!!
Another [name]Brit[/name] who thinks it’s very masculine, BUT, imagining being in the States, where I believe it is unisex, it is one of the better boys’-names-for-girls, in my opinion.
It is very abrupt, though …
I like [name]Blythe[/name] as an alternative.
I wish I would have seen this thread before I posted mine … (I even used the search option - ooops, I must have over looked your question) So I apologize to everyone for my repeat thread.
I too am considering [name]Brynn[/name] for our little girl. I am leaning a little more towards [name]Brynna[/name] as my husband is leaning more towards plain [name]Brynn[/name]. My concern is [name]Brynn[/name]'s fast rise in popularity. According to the SSA, [name]Brynn[/name] has risen from 558 - 323 in only ten years! I don’t want her name to be dated & just a trend by the time she is an adult. (I made that mistake with my daughter’s name, [name]Riley[/name], and I often regret it)
On the other hand, I think it is such a great name & I say if you love it use it (Def a girls name … at least here in the states heehee)!!! Good luck!!!

PS: Have you considered any MN’s for [name]Bryn/name?
I like the name [name]Bryn[/name] for a girl. In fact, I think it’s too feminine for a boy. But I understand cultural differences. I would consider using Brynlie or [name]Brinley[/name] rather than [name]Bryn[/name]. What do all of you ladies across the pond think of [name]Brinley[/name]? Is that a feminine form?
i love bryn for a girl! i actually have a hard time imagining bryn as a boys names cause it sounds so ultrafemmine to me. i prefere the brynn spelling though. it could also be a nickname for a more femmine name like brynna or brynnia or something to that extent. i have never met someone with the first name bryn, but i have a friend who named her daughter [name]Evie[/name] [name]Brynn[/name]. Which to me was very cute and girly. so if you paair it with a very femmine mn it will be fine if your conern is it sounding to masculine.
good luck:) its a beatiful name!
I have a friend called [name]Brinley[/name], and I have always really liked her name. She usually goes by [name]Brin[/name], so I agree that may be a good option.
I’m from [name]Louisiana[/name], USA and I’ve NEVER heard [name]Bryn[/name] as a boy’s name and consider this all-girl, especially with the y spelling. My brother’s name is [name]Brennen[/name], and that is all boy to me, even though I have run into some little girl [name]Brennen[/name]/[name]Brennan[/name]'s recently.
I think [name]Bryn[/name] is a gorgeous name for a girl!
My name is bryn and im a girl . i really hate it im 12 and i get made fun of. somepeople cant read it like sups when my teacher isent there. and they call me brian not bryn. im from canada and i think its a boy name .
[name]Do[/name] they make fun of you because they say it’s a boy’s name? Or when the teacher says it wrong. You can always tell them the teacher is the stupid one for saying it wrong
This is a name I really like for boys, so I’m biased away from seeing it as feminine. I can’t even imagine it on a girl to be honest. I do like the suggestion of maybe using it as a nickname for something, though, if you decide you really want to use it. That way you don’t have to worry about it becoming super popular, or your daughter getting weird looks if she moves to the UK someday. Aubryn might work, on top of [name]Bronwen[/name] which I think was already suggested.
[name]Hi[/name] there, I’m Canadian, but had a Welsh grandparent and have to warn you that [name]Bryn[/name] is either closely associated with male names (or is it the other way around)?
Anyway…
[name]Bryn[/name] I think is masculine
while
[name]Brynne[/name] is feminine??
I love the sound of the name, though!! Good luck!
