I actually used to know a guy named [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. I haven’t talked with him in a while, but he was nice. He bred dogs and looked like the artistic type, long hair, hats etc. So he’s what I think of before Great Danes.
I actually like it. Not for me, but it’s a cool one syllable name.
When I hear it, I do think Great Danes, Danish furniture, Danish people, and the uber gorgeous [name_m]Eric[/name_m] [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. All four are positive associations!
I think it would be a great name for an active little boy but also for a sophisticated, professional man. I can see why you find yourself liking it!
I think it’s a great name, but I worked in the office next to a [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. I’d say 85% of his phone calls contained: “[name_u]Dane[/name_u]. Yes, D-A-N-E.” It would bother me, but he seemed to let it roll off his back. But hey, if you have to spell out your name, it’s a short name to spell. And I agree with you that it’s masculine without being macho.
I know a boy about 7 years old named [name_u]Dane[/name_u]. He is an adorable little blonde guy with longish shaggy hair. [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] looks like he should be a surfer! lol!
I think its a great name! I personally prefer [name_u]Dean[/name_u] but [name_u]Dane[/name_u] is great too!
It makes me think of the comedian, [name_u]Dane[/name_u] Cook, and Great Danes. But I do like the name; it also has surferish vibe to me, maybe because it sounds similar to the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u].
