The name Everly

I’ve been running into a lot of young kids, mostly girls with the name [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. Is it just me or is the name making a comeback and possibly becoming the next “Emma?”

I’m not a fan of it but it has been growing in popularity so you might be right. It’s a little too…“basic” sounding IMO.

[name_u]Everly[/name_u] is definitely popular right now! I don’t know if I’d say it’s making a “comeback” since it was never popular before, but yes it’s #57 in the US, plus the spelling [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f] is at #99 and [name_f]Everlee[/name_f] is at #361. It has actually been going down in the rankings the last 2 years, though, so we’ll see whether it keeps dropping or if it starts going up again! I can see why it’s popular, as -ley endings are very in, plus I think a few celebrities/influencers have used it and [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is a cool sound to have in a name.

I can say I see the appeal of the name! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is very popular, as well as E names and names with v’s. And like mentioned, the [name_u]Ever[/name_u] part of the name sounds really nice, and I’d say even enchanting or something (as in “ever after” or “happily ever after”). I really liked it when I first heard it despite my usual love for established vintage names! I don’t know if it will ever be as popular as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] though, only because it’s not as established of a name, so I think fewer people will choose it. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it got more popular. I think I’ve only heard it around once, maybe at a playground.

It definitely isn’t an old enough name to be making a “comeback”… it is just still popular. [name_f]My[/name_f] first exposure to it was when [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] [name_m]Lambert[/name_m] named her daughter [name_u]Everly[/name_u] (Everleigh? IDK, I get the spellings all mixed up.) I think the Lebrant fam also has a daughter [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. (I don’t follow any of these people, but I do take note of their children’s names lol)

I knew I saw the name [name_u]Everly[/name_u] before somewhere. the LaBrants spell it with a “leigh” at the end though

This one has been popular for about last 10yrs or so. Meaning, most Everlys you’ll find are, as you said, little kids between ages 1 & 10, or maybe 15. At least in my experience. Out of curiosity, when was this name popular before? For it to be coming back from? I have mostly considered it a newer name. Not that it couldn’t have existed before, but i did not realize it had a time where it was around before. I actually thought it was a new made up name.:flushed: I agree with you, Everly does seem to be out there quite a bit with the girls now. It’s cute though, i like it better than some others I’m hearing.

I’m not a fan, and I prefer the spelling [name_u]Everley[/name_u]. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] looks incomplete and too Americanised to me.

I don’t think [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is making a comeback…maybe peaking?

I like it but I’ve never met an [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I also love Evelyn…I have met one [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
