To be honest I don’t love it, [name]Greer[/name] has never had a that ‘wow’ factor for me. A name that is similar that I always loved ever since I read the novel ‘Girl With A [name]Pearl[/name] Earring’ by [name]Tracy[/name] [name]Chevalier[/name] is Griet pronounced like [name]Greet[/name] (as far as I know.) Its a Dutch name, still very unheard of; but I really do prefer that to [name]Greer[/name].
I think my problem with the name is, I don’t know what to imagine when I think of it, I just go blank.

I am sorry if any of this seems harsh, I am just trying to figure out how I picture it, I may have to get back to you!

For me, [name]Greer[/name] evokes the image of the red-headed, soft, lovely, talented, graceful, elegant, sometimes feisty and playful (oh, I could go on) English actress (with great bone structure) [name]Greer[/name] [name]Garson[/name]. She’s one of my favorites and helped me fall in love with this name. This is most certainly a viable name for a lass and I can see myself using it.

Oh, she was so pretty! Thank you for sending!

Thank you for the feedback

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Greer[/name]! I think of a beautiful, strong, intelligent girl.

I like [name]Greer[/name]. It sounds harsh and masculine, but could be pulled off by a strong and pretty woman.

It doesn’t especially evoke any positive thoughts to me, so I’ll choose your option of every unflattering. :?

I think of [name]Greer[/name] [name]Garson[/name]. I think to me she embodied such a quiet strength, beautiful and poised, but tough as nails when needbe.

[name]Greer[/name] doesn’t bring anything positive to mind, I picture and unpleasant girl who’s very unhappy and always sneering/frowning. :frowning:

Here’s a site with a list of personal experiences given by other people named [name]Greer[/name]: Nickelodeon Parents | Printables, coloring pages, recipes, crafts, and more from your child’s favorite Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. shows.

I agree. Sounds harsh and blunt, like [name]Craig[/name] or [name]Kurt[/name]. Rhymes with leer, sneer, tear, fear…

Sorry, but I think it sounds too harsh and masculine for a girl.

To me [name]Greer[/name] is both strong and confident, and beautiful and spirited. I feel that it’s timeless also - not super trendy, but still in with current styles. Personally I would be more likely to use it as a middle name, but that’s just me!

In the end, I think [name]Greer[/name] is a beautiful choice! Good luck with your decision.

I don’t love the name, but that’s my taste. I too think of [name]Greer[/name] [name]Garson[/name]. She was very pretty and a great actress!

I love [name]Greer[/name] for a girl or boy but it’s a little higher on my boy list

The name means “alert; vigilant” so I imagine a sharp, very intelligent child who is mature beyond her/his years.

[name]Greer[/name] [name]Garson[/name]. And I love her!

I have never met anyone with the name Greer. I did see a little girl with the name in my son’s pediatrician office a few months ago. She was a cute little girl with curly blonde hair, and seemed very shy so that is what I think of now.

There is the cool Greer Garson association, which helps the name.

[name]Ive[/name] had a horrible experience with a girl named [name]Greer[/name] which may of influenced my dislike however,[name]Ive[/name] never been a huge fan.I dont think it sounds pretty or cute.I also cant see “[name]Greer[/name]” on a 40 year old saleswoman.Maybe [name]Gretta[/name] or [name]Gemma[/name]?

I didn’t read the other responses because I didn’t want to sway my first thought on the name, so apologies for any repeat. My first thought of Greer would be a confident popular girl. Actually, to be honest, I kind of thought of a bully on my very first instinct. I have no idea why. Sorry. But my very first thought was Brooke Shields – didn’t she name her daughter Greer? I could be wrong. That was my first thought though. Hope it helps. Now I’m going to read what everyone else said!

Oh, and I meant to say that I couldn’t think of any unflattering words that rhymed with it. I wasn’t sure what you were thinking of, but nothing jumps out to me as something to make fun of.

I love the name [name]Greer[/name], personally. If I were to use all one-syllable names for my daughters, I would definitely have this on my short list. [name]Greer[/name] reminds me of a refined, more sophisticated and intelligent [name]Grace[/name]. Out of the images you listed, I think all of the above could be a [name]Greer[/name]. A beautiful girl with spirit would seem the best “fit” to me.

I love the name [name]Greer[/name]. I personally would not use it because I like nicknames but would love to see it on another child. G
