The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 2)

I say [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] as [name_f]Roz[/name_f], but [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] as [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

i’ve only ever heard the roz pn when it’s spelled without a d at the end. like roslyn? i’m not sure how it’s spelled, but i’ve always imagined rosalind with the rose pn.

I think I get the [name_f]Roz[/name_f] pronunciation of [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] from [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] as that’s how it’s said in his plays

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] for a boy?

  • Yes!!
  • I can see it work
  • Eh, it’s not the best
  • No don’t even

Would [name_f]Kleo[/name_f] or Khleo change your opinion?

  • Yes it’s definitely changes it
  • A little bit but it’s mostly the same
  • No my opinion stands

I figure, I don’t really like [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] for a girl (associations), but the associations go away completely when it’s for a boy. It has the typical ending that Spanish boy names end it ([name_f]Amora[/name_f]–> Girl, [name_m]Amoro[/name_m]–> Boy) so I think it could work! There’s also the actor Khleo [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] so that makes it a tad more wearable to me!

Better set?
  • Eden, [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u]
  • Eden, [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
  • I have a better idea (let me know)

I’m in a middle ground. I prefer the [name_f]Rose[/name_f]-pronunciation, but I seem to default to [name_f]Roz[/name_f] for some reason, unless I think about it and stop myself

I’ve only ever heard [name_f]Roz[/name_f] irl with [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]. I would go [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for every [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- name but those because of that.

Kleo - same opinion (it works)
Khleo - looks like you tried to make it look like [name_f]Khloe[/name_f] so I can’t see it working

I was thinking the same, it reminds me a lot of [name_f]Khloe[/name_f], I mostly put it cause of the actor

I voted like the car… but to be fair I love the name [name_m]Forrester[/name_m] which is a subaru.

this was so hard! I voted [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] since its the more traditional spelling but I think I might prefer [name_f]Julienne[/name_f], very tough choice! Both are gorgeous!

That was me many many moons ago. I very much disliked the [name_f]Roz[/name_f]- pronunciation but have grown to love it as I find the sharpness quite appealing - it feels very sophisticated.

Are these all girls?
If so, I like [name_u]June[/name_u] a little better in this set as it feels a little lighter and more modern than [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], which makes [name_u]Eden[/name_u] (modern, unisex) feel more natural in this set.
