I really like the names [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (not as sisters, though), but I worry they might conjure up “private school, horse riding, snobby” imagery… I think these names are considered classless in the UK, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] has only recently been super popular in NA, so it’s still somewhat upper class here. All the Carolines I’ve known have been somewhat upper class too, but that might not be a generally held view. In general, I love how [name_u]Southern[/name_u] and romantic they sound!

Do you think they sound like mean girl names?

  • Yes
  • No
  • Charlotte does
  • Caroline does

I don’t think the names make me think of mean girls in general. I do think some who have held the names could be classed as such (literary example: [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] Bingley).

Oof, [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] Bingley is a sore one! However, she does warn [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] about Mr. [name_m]Wickham[/name_m], albeit not very convincingly. Thank you!!

If you have another idea for a mn, let me know

Nothing against the name! I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] itself sounds lovely! I’ve just unfortunately never met one who wasn’t unpleasant or snobbish. Doesn’t mean there aren’t absolutely wonderful Carolines out there though!

I met a little Resley a while back, and I keep thinking about it. It is a surname meaning “someone who lives near a clearing” While it’s not quite my style, I think it’s pretty cute.
I was wondering what other berries thought of it.

  • Is this love?
  • I like it
  • Nms, but cute
  • Screams trendy (whether you see that as good/bad/neutral is up to you)
  • Not a fan

The Resley I met was a girl

Should also probably mention that the Resley I met pronounced it “rez-lee”, but whether or not that’s the original/popularly-accepted way, I don’t know.

@Finn Makes me think of [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] and [name_u]Presley[/name_u]
