The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 2)

what do you think of Revere August (for me)? Last name is four letters and pronounced Ray-uh

I really want to honor someone with my middle (and I’m kinda meh on a double middle [i’m still considering it, though]). August has no meaning to me, I just love the flow. Should I just go with August since I like the name, or should I keep searching for a more meaningful name?

  • Go with Revere August
  • Keep looking
  • Use Revere August and add the honor as a second middle

Awe but I love so many of them 🥲 I voted for Êlît, count everything else as honorary votes

Are you particularly attached to Revere? I don’t love the flow with the last name but I think [name_u]August[/name_u] ___ “Ray-uh” would be great and then you could still use an honor middle

I really don’t want to change my first name, as much as I love August
I guess i could consider it, though! thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I like them both; they just seem less traditional than your names.

[name_f]My[/name_f] list looks very different about every 5 years. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] was my favorite boy’s name for probably about that long, and in my last pregnancy I didn’t even think about boy’s name because it was going to be Elliot. Then I got a new inspiration half way through and picked a name that had never been on any of my lists. I think right name is the right name for that kid at that time. [name_f]My[/name_f] oldest’s name was second on my list, but it was definitely her name.

I do like Callen/Callan, but not too crazy about the [name_m]Calyn[/name_m] spelling. I like [name_m]Dawsey[/name_m] in theory, but when I say it out loud, it sounds like I’m trying to say [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] with a (bad) [name_f]English[/name_f] accent

I forget how young so many of you are on here. I have already had 5 children and could have been a grandma many times over lol. [name_f]My[/name_f] oldest is 31 years old and has been married for 10 years now (no children yet). None of the options you gave apply to me so I couldn’t choose one haha. BUT, in the context of your question… I have had the same #1 name for over 25 years. Didn’t get to use it on any of my children but my oldest son and his S.O. have chosen it for their future daughter.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify you mean this name is literally for you, like your name? I like it! But I think if you want to fit an honor in then keep playing with it.

yes, this is for me! I’ll definitely keep looking and if I can’t find anything else, I’ll probably just use August haha

I looked at it more along the lines of popularity. The names you seem to like are not very popular. They are also not entirely what I would call, “out there”. You seem to like names above the top 100 but below 500.
I really felt like [name_u]Fable[/name_u] Matilda, [name_u]Parker[/name_u] Indigo, [name_u]Everest[/name_u] Bowman, and [name_u]Evren[/name_u] [name_u]Sparrow[/name_u] fit a pattern.

I just don’t like it for anyone
It has nothing to do with gender

It’s definitely the name for me, but it doesn’t work in my language so I will never use it

Because @EllieWilbury first deleted the poll and then reposted it, it looks like you can see into the future

This is completely random and ridiculous, but it’s early morning here and I’ve been up all night with Endymion who was crying, so don’t mind me

The names that were in the number one spot before my children were born never made it onto their birth certificate

Now that I have four children and we might still add to our family, I have separate lists for names I’d actually use, and names I love but can’t use for multiple reasons (doesn’t work with SO’s last name, SO doesn’t like it, doesn’t work where we live etc.).

Which spelling?

It’s just a super unwieldy name to me.

Depends on my partner! Without question my daughter would be [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] (Honour combo with special meaning), but that would mean my partner having zero input so I doubt he’ll go for it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] other definite is [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] but I’m open to middles, or even use her in a middle spot if she matches my partners suggestions, so that’s more likely

Boys are trickier, [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] is my top favourite for over 10 years now, and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is an honour. So my first boy would be one of those, mixed with names of my partners choice.

So basically I have my top 2s, I’m just not sure which are definite and I probably don’t have the exact combo I’ll use

I’ve managed to come up with some combos that we might actually use one day… [name_m]Just[/name_m] vote for all you like.
