Marisol was on my first ever boy baby name list … I don’t even think its used for boys

[name_u]Sol[/name_u] definitely is used for boys, I’ve even heard [name_f]Mari[/name_f] as a nn for boys, but yea [name_f]Marisol[/name_f] isn’t used for boys this is coming from a Hispanic too. I believe it’s a short form of a female saint but not completely sure.

Say you were planning on using the name of someone you love to honor them, and, after expressing that intent, learned that they don’t actually like their name. Would you still use the name? • Yes, I’d still use the name. It’s the intent behind it that’s important.
• No, I’d let the name go. It’s unfortunate, but it would be rather weird.

I’ve been through this myself with my dad’s name. His name isn’t itself Jay, but Jay was a childhood nickname. I love the idea of a longer name with nn Jay or Jay as a mn, but he apparently has always hated it. it’s so sad but I want him to feel happy about how I honor him with my child’s name, not like “oh. I hate that name.”

if it was a name i loved, i’d use it, but if it was a name that i liked but didn’t love i probably wouldn’t.

I didn’t vote because I don’t think I’d use it in any situation.
