One of my best friends is [name_f]Lila[/name_f], she goes by lie-luh 98% of the time except for when sheās called in Spanish, then itās lee-lah. I would pronounce [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] the same instinctively
liking finch a lot lately!

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f] is perfection!
would totally vote for [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] Rosebay if it was an option!
I would pronounce [name_f]Lila[/name_f] Lil-uh.
[name_f]My[/name_f] fav is [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] cause it makes me think of [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
Are Elio & Liev too similar for brothers?

I quickly voted no, but then I remembered that [name_m]Elio[/name_m] can be PN E-lee-oh. Is this how you would PN it? I always say El-eye-oh. (Thatās how Iāve heard it in the wild too, I think it was SJ strum who talked about PN it the [name_u]Leo[/name_u] way.) If they would share the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sound I would have voted ākind of, but still usable.ā
Iāve only ever heard ell-ee-oh

@firefly305 the only reason I voted like instead of love, was I felt like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] felt slightly different to the others. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] all give off very timeless vibes, while [name_f]Julia[/name_f] feels more current. Iād personally like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] more. however, thereās nothing wrong with [name_f]Julia[/name_f] at all!! [name_f]My[/name_f] view is probably just influenced by the fact that Iāve known so many Juliaās, all around the same age. I also want to say that [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u], and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] are so absolutely stunning!!
I love the idea of [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] āAppleā - so adorable!!
@planetnames chose [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]Briar[/name_u], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f], and [name_f]Libby[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (which are all so incredibly perfect!
) but I also think [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] Sunflower fits in perfectly!!!
@leafygreens this was the hardest āwhich would you rather be namedā poll Iāve ever done, I think! I would love to be called either. Specifically, I think I wouldāve preferred being called one or the other at different parts of my life. I went with [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] because I cant pass up that Hocus Pocus (and therefore Halloween) association, but I almost came back and changed my vote because while I prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to [name_f]Clover[/name_f] in general, I really would love to be a Clover!!
@josieaitken I think [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] are very close to eachother (visually), but I also think they can still work for sisters. Iāve met many sibsets with much more similar names!
@etoilelumineuse thereās a horror movie called [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] which is what I immediately thought of! It isnāt an extremely well known association by any means, but I do think most horror fans have seen it. I just wanted to mention it anyway!! I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f] is stunning!
@eattacosforbreakfast love the literary vibes of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] & [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]! Seriously such a perfect set of brothers, wow
I like [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] as a brother but only pronounced ee-van, not eye-van (thatās just a personal preference though, of course)!
This is my dadās name! He says crehg, but gets both. Itās a fairly common name here, and usually itās with the āehā sound.
This is very true for the Maritimes accents, where a lot of vowels get replaced with short Es, especially ones at the end of words.
I think it depends on how you would like to pronounce it (suh or say). Iām assuming that suh-leen is more common where you are, so adding the accent might help people remember that itās pronounced say-leen.
Thereās also the French fashion designer/brand CĆ©line Vipiana who has a branch in the US, so say-leen might not be totally unfamiliar/confusing (?)
Haf is pronounced haav (long a sound)

(these are all girl names)
But itās not pronounced say-leen in French either. Itās actually very close to the English pronunciation of Celine, just that the Ć© is a bit longer than it would be in English. No -ay sound whatsoever.
So I said [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] is possibly more popular in the US because of the Hispanic population here.
For nicknames just āVeeā
I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
